A truly breathtaking experience

To begin this with, I wanna make clear that yes this game has bugs and yes it seems to run pretty poorly in its current state on consoles (I played it only on PC) and it was not okay that CD Project Red or whoever ist responsible for this didn't show these versions until release. BUT: The developer team have made a truly great game. If any of them reads this: Incredible job, this is a truly great game and I wanna say thank you for all the work and heart you put into this. CD Project is already throwing out patches and trying everything to make your experience as bug-clean as possible. And when looking past all these technical things, this grame tells a great story as I can say so far, has great characters, has a very good character development system (although the loot system and crafting needs some work) and the side missions are as good as in The Witcher 3. They tell funny little stories, or even pretty sad ones! The sound is great, the voices are great! The city is a whole other story. I have played a lot of games so far, also things like Assassin's Creed with truly incredible open worlds but this city is the best I have seen so far. The streets are full of NPCs (KI still needs some work) and the graphics look awesome also without RTX! And the level of detail is truly remarkable. I can understand all the people saying that the consoles versions aren't playable and that is absolutely not okay! But I wanted to write this review because I have the feeling that with all this negative press about the game concerning its technical issues which are much more rare on PC a lot of people miss out on what great game is behind this. If you want a completely bug free experience, wait some time. And I can still remember that when The Witcher 3 came out it ran pretty poorly on consoles as well and look what a great game it has become!

Exactly what i hoped for

The Good: The character development is insane, never seen before in an open world game, you get total freedom and unlike other games you aren't locked into the "archetype" you were going for just by having the first few points put into it's trees. And that's just the mechanical side, the fact that the player also is a real character inside this universe's narrative, with their own rich story and your decisions form the character's personality is a masterwork. The combat system is great. Guns feel meaty and are precise, blades can be used in many different motions and the parry system is stellar, some enemies just don't really phone in their attacks perfectly all the time, so parrying is as hard as in "those really hard" 3D character action games. The player has many options and so many different approaches to character development, it doesn't have to hide itself from games of the gerne "emersive sims" and is on par with the best in that regard. The main story and the array of fully acted and voiced substories are stunning. The main and sub story arcs interject on some levels with each other - characters from story arc one will acknowledge stuff you do in story arc two and so forth - or an character might suddenly be missing and its acknowledged and played around it. The length is perfectly servicable, where just following the main story will net you in the same time as in the famous series about games about some ancient scriptues. The Bad: Game breaking bugs? Yes, occassionally, but reload solved all of them for me. Style - yeah, you have quite a lot of options, but if you go for stats forget about style completely. The driving is passable with cars still reacting really weird to bumps in the road or harsh steering. Faction or reputation systems are non-existent - personally the greatest letdown. Itemization is bad - optimally itemized player characters will all look exactly the same. Verdict: If you skip this you will miss out.

Great But too many bugs

I have played 20 hours and enjoying almost every bit of it. Story and side quests are engaging. The Attributes you can pick offer a variety of playstyles while the perk points give you cool upgrades. The world is ofcourse beautiful and immersive but the bugs can sometimes ruin the experience. Most Bugs I run into which you will run into them are funny but have had a few that required me to reloaded a save to fix. I have had 3 crashes to desktop during my play time. Closing thoughts if you do not already have it wait until people report more bugs have been fixed also I recommend having a high end PC to enjoy. I run at RTX 2070 @ 1440p runs great with DLSS at 65fps avg. Biggest graphics setting that sucks up all the FPS is Screen Space Resolution.

I do enjoy the game but...

Pro: - I enjoy the game, it's fun to play and just run around the world in doing side missions etc. - The main story is quite interesting for the most part, with a few sloggy bits inbetween but overall interesting enough to make me want to finish it. - I know people have had mixed opinions of the crafting system, but I quite enjoy being able to craft equipment and ammo on the fly when needed. - There are some great characters which I love, but some as I mention below are very flat and clearly need more work. Cons: - Obviously bugs - For a game that was advertised to us as our choices matter, they frankly dont. Your starting has no impact on the story and the ending... Basically it doesn't matter what you do, who you befriend etc. All those "choices" lead to one point at the end where you basically pick choice A or choice B, very Mass Effect 3-ish. - Romance is weird? It's a nice edition, but some of the romance characters are flat in comparison to others, and the game treats having sex as the conclusion. If you chose to enter a serious relationship with anyone the game doesn't care and once again acts as though nothing changes. You had sex enjoy the quick scene and goodbye! - Lack of interactivity in the world, large world with little to do? I've sunk a lot of hours into this game, mostly thinking all the side missions and people I befriend mattered at the end... I do enjoy the game for what it is, but it is in no way groundbreaking. I sincerely hope they improve the very core/base of the game to give something more akin to what they were hyping.

Best Game Ever

The long wait was worth it, I love it. For me, Cyberpunk 2077 is the best game. Great graphics, cool story.
