The game itself (mainly the story and the features) is really good. However the performance, graphics and behavior of the game isn't where it should be. I hope CDPR keeps updating this title, since it has amazing potential.
I wrote a review with 5255 signs on steam. I guess this is to much for this platform. So, here is the short version.
This gaming experience on a technical level of 80 hours was the worst one I ever had with a game in 20 years of gaming. And I played a lot of games.
This is so sad and annoying because this game could be good but everytime I made my peace with this mess something new came along.
I tried three years to play this game. First a few months after the release and than a year later. Both times it simply did not work at all. And now with v2.0 was the third attempt.
I had three game ending bugs, endless minor bugs and one major issue with framedrops if I played to long.
But I also had enough fun to finish this game off by buying the DLC. Only to encounter that i cannot install the DLC with the game. I had to restart my PC, delete all game files manually and reinstall the DLC and the main game in one go. 77GB, 2 hours downloading instead of just installing a DLC.
I cannot recommend buying this mess of a product. It is still unfinished, has the most bugs I ever encountered and is therefore not playable. You simply cannot know if something in this game works as intended or if it is a bug.
Wait half a year and wait for a sale. This game is not worthy of a full-price.
P.S.: Do not support a platform that has no interest in their USP (DRM-free content) anymore.
I for one kind of enjoy this. It isn't the second coming of christ or anything, but I enjoy it. It was disappointing to see all of those promised features just completely missing. Bugs are still very common, performance is awful, but overall the important thing is that I'm having fun unlike a lot of other people. I would only recommend this to someone if I could make sure they knew what they were getting into.
I paid 60€ for a key, activated it, played 5 hours when it came out.
The story is predictable and it doesn't feel like you have control over changing the story in the slightest, it's rather "what do I ask first" than an RPG element.
I didn't know you could refund it for up to 30 days so now I'm stuck with having paid 60€ for nothing.
Game was full of bugs and with my Ryzen 5 5600X and RTX 3070 on medium to high settings without raytracting I had 60 fps or less. When I got into a fire fight and 2 people shot at me, my FPS dropped to less than 10.
I expected more from it and would much rather get my money back and invest it into Dying Light 2
