Ok, the story is good (very VERY short), good characters, night city is beautiful, but ...
why is it not possible to customize cars?
Why can I change my arms, but I can't change my haircut?
No tattoos like gta?
No vehicle shop why? (it is difficult to choose vehicles through messages ...)
Poor physics... vehicle steering is very arcade.
What happened to CD project?
The Witcher 3 was wonderful, but it seems that you forgot how to make games ...
Very disappointed ...
This is essentially a single-story game, not an open-world game like any other you've played, you can only do *some* things in-between the real missions. Its "open" just because of that, but not because like in tradition with other games in such category, the world is fully immersive and interactive, where you can actually have a different adventure each time you play it.
For me personally there's nothing to like about the game in the current state. First 5seconds into the game I was already loosing immersiveness, because I couldn't walk and was running around like a lunatic;
I don't feel like I had any say in what my characters dreams are;
the city, although filled by more people and cars than I have ever seen, seems more dead and flat than anything else- NPCs are more stupid than Warcraft 2 AI, 0 interactions that could resemble anything natural (not even close to something simple like the Morrowind implementation), everything is just repeated over and over again..;
Very Hard mode is just stupid- 0 immersion there- I have to unload like 2-3 magazines into a head to kill anyone. Its not "Hard" its just unrealistic and boring.
I won't even get into the bugs (mechanics, physics, anything- you name it is just wrong), as I wouldn't care much about them if the game was actually good;
~120hours of gameplay to complete everything? Really? I mean Really? For 60 bucks?
Graphics are nice, but I don't care about that at all.
I am truly disappointed with this purchase and feel like this is the only have that has mislead massively pre-launch and really didn't deliver anything that was promised. I have found 0 value to continue playing this game and will not play it until(/if) it gets massively improved.
Hardware:
i5-750 Lynnfield @ 3.8ghz
12gb RAM
RX 570 8gb
Low end SSD
Time played at review: 60 hours
Low preset @ 1080p, crowd density medium, textures @ high
Performance:
I'm running an ancient, now 11 year old CPU with only one thread per core. I wasn't expecting much from it, but after a modest overclock I think it ran ok. 30fps which stutters when driving and exploring the game world. Quests and shooting sequences stayed locked to 30fps. This is a game which would really appreciate a multi threaded CPU, but its totally playable. RX 570 did great, CPU was the bottleneck.
Whats Good:
I love the gameplay of Cyberpunk. The shooting feels great. This is a rare shooter that feels ok at 30fps. Other games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim make me feel nauseous at 30fps. Not with Cyberpunk.
Exploring the map is very fun. I go around and hit map marker after map marker. I always seemed to find something interesting. The city is insane.
The double jump transforms the game.
The hacking minigame is pretty fun.
What I wish was better:
My biggest problem with Cyberpunk 2077 is it's dialogue system. 99.9% of dialogue choices seem to make no difference. Some quests I could even guess what the two choices were going to be before the branch was cut and combined.
I wish the game had more weapons. The same 13 weapons drop over and over with leveled stats for the whole game. Its gets old after 60 hours. Which is a shame since this game has a really good looter shooter foundation. It just doesn't have the weapon variety to support it. This is a problem which probably won't stand the test of time. After expansions, and hopefully modding tools.
Bugs I encountered:
I had a bunch of graphical bugs, and about 4 bugs where I had to reload an old save. Autosave is pretty generous. I never lost more that a few minutes of play time. At launch I had several crashes related to AVX instructions not being supported on my CPU. CDPR fixed this in 1.05.
Played it on launch, buggy mess that it was, and even then I was blown away by the world. It is still my favorite cyberpunk setting 4 years later. Now I hear they even made the traffic work. What's not to love?
