Deuce Vegas Minus
I wish I could give it 3.5 I haven't had the wild performance issues most people talk about. The most glaring bugs have been audio dialogue cutting off towards the end of each sentence and the cops teleporting in behind you. Some other jank has definitely been present, people moonwalking around and what not. Biggest issue for me is the player agency. It essentially starts as Deus Ex meets Fallout New Vegas and that sounds excellent I know. Its a mirage though. The ability of the player to really shape the outcome of the game isn't really there. The story itself is intriguing, the writing mostly is very well done from the top to the bottom. It's a beautiful open world linear story driven game. It does remind me of W3 in that manner. Despite this, I do not feel as attached to this world as I did in DX, W3 or FNV. The game was billed as a more true RPG experience and I don't really sense that here. FNV really put you in the drivers seat and let you navigate this world that seemed like it would go on with or without you and which you could shape with your every action. W3 had such focus that despite being a pre-destined character that it was easy to lose yourself in Geralt's persona and engage in the world like he might. Cyberpunk just kind of drops your wisecracking ass into this role with minimal background and railroads you into a certain persona throughout the game. You can certainly shape the ending to a degree and allegiances will change aspects of the outcome. But I didn't feel like I was pushing my way through my own journey or that I was living out this grand story through the eyes of another. It was something in between, like I was being dragged through this predetermined outcome regardless of how I felt about it. Also, the game economy is broken and some of the advertised fun cyberware body mods will take at least 15-20 hours to access. Despite this, I like it. I really do. It's fun to play. But it's not a new classic and it's not redefining the genre
