I rarely play games because of workaholism/workload but this game... I already played more than 45 hours since release and it keeps me going. Vibrant world, daunting and exiting story, well written characters and many more little details combined make this game for lack of better word unparalleled.
This is gem in world of modern games, highly recommended!
This game will disapoint you without being disappointing. What I mean by that is that this game has great graphics, a decent story, a vast world and even Keanu Reeves and yet it falls painfully short of what the Witcher 3 was. The Witcher 3 has a great ever evolving story which you could experience from two angles, Geralt and Ciri. This made the game very enjoyable as you could see constant development from many angles, nothing would stay static, everything was in motion and you had to pay close attention to not miss anything. In Cyberpunk you have two Characters which experience the same story... and I feel like it doesn't add much to it.
The entire storytelling is outdated. In Cyberpunk, you can break into the office of the leader of a giant corporation, witness a huge event, steal his stuff, kidnap his sister and bugger off without the fella doing anything to find you.
I am currently stuck due to a bug in the final mission of the game and at this point I don't even know if I want to put the effort in to finish it. I don't understand how this could have happened.
This game had more than twice the development time of the Witcher 3 and yet it feels like the Witcher 3 is sequel to this game in terms of design.
I am hoping CDPR still finishes the game while I play for the next couple of months so I can get a better experience out of it.
The good: This game has so much potential, it is really amazing. The plot is interesting; the lore is amazing; most of the characters are believable; The missions are diverse and very fun; I like the gunplay; Stealth is really cool; Hacking is OK, I hopped it would feel better.
The bad:
BUGS: This game is terribly buggy as of now (1.05). I cannot play for 20 minutes without bumping into a immersion breaking bug. They vary from NPCs walking through walls; objects in the NPC's hands vanishing out of nowere; When you switch cameras (from a car cutscene, back to first person outside the car, for example) sometimes the they don't switch back; Once V equipped a weapon that I did not even had in my inventory; Several other - I cannot even keep track of them. They happen all the time. I did not experience any crashes, though.
NPCs are terrible: you cannot talk to them (besides one-liners); They do not seem to be doing anything, most of them just hanging there without any pourpose whatsoever; I came across a NPC that was singing, but their body language did not seem to be aware of what the NPC was doing; There are very little NPC variations - Every block I find two NPCs that are identical! The NPC IA is just bad - they don't make any sense; Traffic is absurdly buggy. Cars cannot move around any obstacle
PERFORMANCE: is really bad. I am running on a GTX1060 6GB / i7 9400 / 16GB DDR4 / M2 SSD - well above the "recommended" config, and I can barely get 40FPS on medium. Had to tweak a lot of the settings, disable several features and lower graphics settings to get a barely acceptable performance - still with all that the game looks very different than what was shown. If fact, I even dare say it looks bad! I dare say that this game looks worse in my hardware than GTAV, which is a 7 year old game that happens to run on ultra 60FPS+ on my hardware.
I own the game on the PS4 and I have to say I love the game. I know many people are encountering bugs and are disappointed from some features removed however honestly I still think the game is really good and you should give it more of a chance before giving it a bad review or refunding it.
Game is good but definitely not what previews, marketing and trailers promised.
The gameplay is classic and tedious, even if CDPR managed to create a good engine and use it well.
Night City is gorgeous and desert at the same time when IA NPC's and street events are too few in time and dimension.
Let's wait for DLCs and big patches but right now, this game is quite far from being what most of us hoped for.
P.S. : The story is well writen but the developers fell in the other trap after a "way too long" Witcher 3 scenario. Short main story and way too few ways of linking with main NPCs. I wish I could betray some of them. Cyberpunk is mainly about paranoia but I nerver felt that.
