Far from perfect but still amazing

2077 honestly should have been given more development time. Despite the game's quality and numerous delays, it still feels half baked. That having been said, it is without a doubt one of the best triple-A games I've ever played. Still, there are things one should be aware of before buying it: The gunplay is solid, but enemies can be "bulletsponges" meaning that many types of guns have a tendency to feel almost useless. I ended up using mostly sniper rifles and katanas despite the weapon variety. The latter is particularly fun alternative, as the movement can be frantic, allowing you to hop around while slicing enemies up. The driving is by far the worst part of the game. Here the framerate is at its worst and the keyboard controls don't allow for the finesse driving needs. Motorcycles are the exception as they control fairly well, yet still even they never handle perfectly. Speaking of framerate, the game does have its share of technical problems. There are some weird and annoying glitches that usually don't interfere with gameplay, but damper the impressive sense of immersion the game has at its best. The story and writing are excellent; there are many instances of conundrums in the main and side stories that require consideration and have no obvious "best option". The writing is dampered somewhat by the voice acting which, while never bad, often sounds awkward and jarring. The lore and supplementary writing (such as the flavor texts and worldbuilding elements) are all well done. The story in general is also more nuanced than a lot of genre writing that comes out today. I expected the story to preach nonstop about the evils of capitalism and shortcomings of American culture. There is plenty of critique, but almost never is it one sided. Unfortunately, the endgame feels a little sparse—not bad, but sparse. In the end this is my biggest critique for 2077: it needs more. More dev time, more content, more of everything. But it is absolutely worth playing.

Most of the game is really good...

...but corporate origin is plain stupid. Noone employed in such a role would be able to just walk away from Arasaka losing only the money. It would require a major fight to survive termination of employment and constant looking over one's shoulder to stay alive for any lenght of time. If it's the same world as Cyberpunk 2020 it should have the same reality. I can understand changing how certain things work (Kerenzikov and Sandevistan) is necessary due to limitations introduced by cRPG. But changing how megacorps work is not justified by this.

It's not finished but I love the it!

I never watched any of the promotional material or any trailer mainly due to the fact that I feel that I enjoy games more while going in blind knowing that I might enjoy it. To put it bluntly the game is buggy, you can see the care and detail put into some areas of the game but in other parts it feels like they saw that they have only 3 months left until release and and rushed a feature(i.e. The teleporting police). The game actively distracts you from the rough edges and stupid bugs by immersing you in an incredibly well written story with amazing characters. The game is short at around 30 hours(for a game of this scale) way less than the 50 hours I spent in the witcher playthrough but I feel the game is quite dense in that if you ignore the filler (gigs and shootouts on the street) the game is very enjoyable if you are the type that loves to learn about the characters and focus on the story. This is a CDPR game in that the the story is excellent and everything else is just average. The game isn't the the pinnacle of next genneration gaming and rpgs. It is clearly designed with the story in mind with everything coming second from the combat to character design. I got the same feeling playing this game as the Witcher 3 but with the Witcher not being stripped down and actually being finished. I feel if they just delayed it again to summer 2021 they would of had the time to make the melee combat feel good, implement a functional police system and make the boxing matches more bearable. If the game didn't launch in a broken mess then people would of had a better opinion of it, I know lauching a unfinished game didn't go well, who would of thought. If I have to be honest I love this game and I can't wait until they finish it so that so many more people can enjoy it is one of the best written games that I have ever played. If you decide to buy this game now just expect bugs and do the main sidejobs don't miss them out there pretty good.

Excellent.

Great story, writing, voice acting, graphics, gameplay and mechanics. This is the top game made in the past decade or so. There are bugs. The game is modifiable though.

Great game !

I heard a lot of bad things concerning this game, but i wanted to judge by myself. And honestly, to me, it is really cool and beautiful ! I love looking around, checking the details, taking my time, reading all things about this universe, it help for the immersion... I also like the fact that the "music pack" was included because i love listening ambiance music when i work. I just wish more side quests and hidden stuffs like the Witcher 3. I hope the future expensions/ dlcs will be huge, with a lot of contents. Please ! So much potential...
