I am enjoying it so far, don't care about the bugs and whatnot. Until now nothing game-breaking. A game this caliber is sure to have problems, but it's here, finally, we can play it. And it is indeed a masterpiece. I Will have another playthrough when they finish polishing it.
Two things where it can be improved: fixing the bugs and improve the performance.
First of all, it's awesome that game is available on GeForce NOW through GOG. That way I can play on my Mac mini from 2012 perfectly fine with RTX enabled and graphics are a blast on ultra.
I'm going to skip driving, shooting, loot and all of that typical FPS-related fluff. Those systems are fine, above average even I'd say but as a fan of roleplaying games I simply don't care much about them. Perhaps quickhacking could be done more in a style of Watch Dogs bit hey, at least the minigame for breach is less annoying that Legion's circuit connecting puzzle.
I care about characters: and while models, the graphics and what they wear, are all cool, I think biggest clap should go to voice actors and then to people who thought about small gestures, AND THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM, even the damn guy frying rice on a pan when talking to Jackie has some specific rice-frying problems and reacts amazingly alive to it. I haven't seen it before done it on such a big scale. I also like to close my eyes sometimes, just focus on voices. Nicely done.
Second is the setting: Cyberpunk. Not much too say about it, I've been waiting for a solid, vast game set in this world for a while (Deus Exes and Shadowruns didn't cut it for me, Cyberpunk has always being my number #1 dystopian setting) and everyone who played tsbletp version knows why it's awesome already.
But the story (I've played only ~10h for now but it includes a lot of side quests and sightseeing) and maybe not the mini quests but rather those in the middle, medium-sized chunks tangled together with Cyberpunk lore: that's the real meat to me. Good fluff.
Had some glitches like people being out in "scared mode" when nothing was happening, run into problem with missing objective after leaving Vik (solved by re-loading the game) and some really rando spawns of enemies multiple times but as I said at the beginning of the review: I don't much care about the "enemy fighting" part, would happily see this game as a storytelling only.
First, I want to point out the obvious -- there's definitely issues with this game. Personally I've only experienced minor bugs but your results may vary. I'm 30 hours in and I feel like I'm not even halfway done because I'm getting lost in side missions. I love it! The side missions aren't cooky cutter and most feel unqiue with varied content. Primary storyline is the main draw of the game but it can take awhile before it sinks its hooks into you. The city itself feels more like a backdrop, this isn't a living and breathing city once you peer behind the curtain. You'll notice that city NPCs have dumb AI, dumb car AI, artificial police AI, etc. It feels like they had to scale back the ambition when creating their city. It's on par with a Ubisoft open world game, as far as city NPC AI goes at least. Anything involving quests is A++. These drawbacks aren't enough to keep it from 5 stars because the rest of the game is so good. Highly recommend!!!
Fun to play, the narrative is the best i ever seen, i truly doubt that any game ever released has this kind of quality.
Visually beatiful, well optimized!! run impressively well in my RX 580 without overheating it.
Just hope they fix bugs that can ruin the experience.
