One of the best games i played all year, despite the bugs.
Even though I haven't experienced as many bugs or any that broke my experience and immersion at all, i still recognize em and hope they get fixed ASAP so people can enjoy the game as much as I did and maybe even enjoy it more than I ever could've.
Despite everything This is probably my most favorite game, period. This game made me have another go at learning the guitar again, thanks Johnny!
If you have at least a GTX 1070 GPU, a good processor and 16 GB of ram can be bought without fear.
Otherwise, expect better optimization or don't even buy.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a great game with fantastic story and equally fanatastic atmosphere, but at the launch it was riddled with bugs and glitches, 1st patch fixed a lot of problems that I faced those are fps drops while driving, and overall poor optimization. I am using r5 3600, rtx 2060 super and 16 gbs of ddr4 ray tracing is not quiet hitting point for me beacuse it causes huge perfomance issues but on the other hand I am capable of running in 60 fps on ultra without dls in 1080p which is quiet something because before 1st patch i couldn't even reach 40fps without dls. The shadows are really poor quality no matter which setting I use, same goes for water. Melee combat is alright but also it's pretty broken I can play on hardest difficulty throw bunch of flash bangs into group of enemies and annihilate them with a hammer. Side quests and activities are a lot fun. If cdprojekt will keep pumping those patches and fixes I am sure it will grow into Goty contestant!
The bugs haven't been bad for me, and I've had one crash, which is ok because the game loads fast and autosaves frequently. The main gripes I have with the game are the way lifepaths offer nothing of substance to the story - a couple useless extra lines here and there; and the kbm controls. Can't rebind many actions, and the double tap to dodge just ruins sneaking and CQC. Driving seems fine to me, I don't know what people are complaining about.
I love the story and characters so far, and the city does feel great, although there isn't as much minor content as I'd expected. Plenty of gigs and side jobs though.
Jank. really jank.
I have no doubt that CDPR will iron these out, and I'm perfectly happy waiting for future fixes, but this is buggier than Skyrim at launch. By far the buggiest triple AAA game I've ever played. Not the most broken in terms of crashing - but just janky in EVERY single way.
However, gameplay-wise I can see myself enjoying this for many months, I get strong Skyrim and Fallout NV vibes (occasionally Fallout 4 vibes but thats mainly the bugs). Dishnoured creeps its head in occasionally, and the music is very Doom at times.
But unlike dishnoured and doom, the controls and the enjoyment of simple movement and gaemplay mechanics is hampered by horrible controls - not layout - but the actual movement mechanics. Its janky. so very jank. I recommend the devs check out the controls to both Doom and Dishnoured (the first one), including HL2 and other source titles, as these games have super responsive and enjoyable movement and combat mechanics. Responsive is the absolute last word I'd use to describe C2077. So unresponsive it feels like a fever dream sometimes.
And unlike skyim and fallout nv, the world so far feels less mysterious, and more like mass effect crossed with sleeping dogs. Season with a little bit of borderlands and you have yourself a Cyberpunk 2077!
I can't speak for optimisation as I'm running a 980TI, and its smooth - ish - when set to low. Anything higher will make the input lag horrific.
This is the company that brought us my favourite game of all time (The Witcher 3), and whilst that had some issues, none detracted from my sheer enjoyment. But cyberpunk is like a game I designed for fun as a kid - really ambitious and perfect in everyway, but totally unfeasible to complete and refine in any doable time frame. If all of this jank can be ironed out, then CDPR have made 13yo me very happy, with a game that truly captures the feels of some of my favourite games.
Also the sound design, music, and sound programming is freakin amazing!
