New addiction
After the first day, and updating my video card driver, I have had nothing but fun with 2077 and gotten as sucked in to playing it as I did the Witcher Series and the Elder Scrolls series of games their first times through. Other than a few spelling errors that I don't think were intentional, I haven't run into anything game breaking since the driver update. The world is vast and easy to lose yourself in, just running or driving around and finding new areas and new missions, maybe taking on a bit more than you can chew. I do love the humor in the dialogue and in all of the advertising strewn throughout the game, and the dark tone to many of the gigs. This really seems to be in line with CDPR's writing expertise, coming off of the Witcher. The driving is about par with a GTA game honestly, but that is serviceable, and the shooting and melee feel good enough too. It does look as though the skill trees will make things more interesting as time goes on there. I am really enjoying hacking though, and though I didn't really build my V for it initially, have been using it more and more in situations where it can have some interesting effects. I'm only 25 hours in and feel there's so much more to do that I have yet to scratch the surface of the game's content, and this is exactly what I was hoping for. I've come to love open world RPGs over the last 18 years, after Morrowind really introduced me, and maybe was the start of the genre? It's a great way to relax after work, and this will be scratching that itch for months to come.
