If you are expecting a next gen simulation of authentic city of the future with that feels alive, gives you choice to do whatever you want, then this is NOT the game for you. If you are looking for a somewhat bigger deus ex game, with more action, better graphics and more histories to be told then you may enjoy this game. Suspend your disbelief and ignore the teleporting NPC, the faulty physics, the vendors that just insult you if you try to interact with them, don't try go exploring the big city... just stuck to the histories and the activities marked on the map and you may enjoy this game.
This going to be a short review no point putting what everybody is saying with the bugs and bad performane , did i experienced bugs ? yes tons , do i have bad fps ? no on pc im currently playing on the highest grahpics and it runs well BUT Its not without its faults, That been said im having a blast with what the game do best. cant wait for all bad stuff to be patched out and more content vial dlc to be added. so far im happy very happy indeed.
Also i take my time with these type of game so i still got tons to do and about the story dunno ill say prob half way through and already clocked in 46 h.
Of course it's not the ultimate game with multiple dimensions of meanings. I really appreciate the work of CDR on this one. I enjoyed every second of this game. The idea to dare develop something like Cyberpunk is must be appreciated! This type of genre is so multifarious and the possibilites seem unlimited. I mean cmon, the future is vague and everyone of us have their own fantasy about it. IMO The developers made a decent job on connecting exisiting ideas from media and books with their own creativity. I Have to say thank you. Thank you for giving me the possibility to move in this hell of a distopia.
Gladfully its optimized for computers and its running quite good on my RX580. I cant say anything about the performance issues on the consoles but i saw quite alot on youtube. Hope they can fix it in the near future. Blessings to the developers. Must be heard working on this AAA title.
I really like this game so far, after the fist removal of bugs it plays really nice and is very rarely buggy. It's a massive game, has great graphics, story so far is good, of course it's not going to be perfect right of the bat. Witcher was not perfect either. The amount of terrible comments really saddens me. So far I've been very much enjoying it and I hope the developers get some rest over the holidays so they can come fresh in 2021 to polish the game to the point it deserves. My only complaint would be that when you want to fast travel, all points of interest disappear so you're left with a blind map with little to orient by. Would be great if you could click to show those. Thanks for the hard work guys!
Overall, from what I have played the game is fantastic. If it was not for the terrible launch for Old Gen consoles, (I have been playing it on the Xbox One X) this would be a 5 star review.
While I was (still am to some degree) frustrated at CDPR and the seemilngly neglected Old Gen ports, I do understand that they are a business, they delayed it three times already and as much as I am sure they wanted to delay again...they likely could not for various reasons.
The problem CDPR has is they are a better company than most of the big names out there, so this flawed release leaves a fouler taste. Everyone expects Ubisoft/EA/Activision games to be copy and paste tiles with buggy launches, but CDPR are a cut above so a lot of the focus has gone on their reputation with the actual game not being given a chance. Again, this does not excuse CDPR.
I am sure, given the chance CDPR will make it up to their fans and regain some footing (maybe the first expansion is free) . As well as making sure their staff get a well deserved rest and bonus. I appreciate all the crunch work done by the staff.
Anyway, on to the game. It is a weird hybrid of Fallout New Vegas, Grand Theft Auto, Deus Ex with the Witcher's fantastic story telling sprinkled in. Outside of the bugs, the gameplay is fun. The gunplay is great. The RPG side is a little light, but still enough to there to keep you happy.
Hopefully, the life in Night City will be improved going forward and the AI gets a bit of an upgrade...but I would recommend this for sure. As for forgiving CDPR, time will tell.
