I like it. The car controlling isn't that good but the rest is fine. There are some grafic bugs, especially with fog. The npc don't walk always, sometimes their just hover over the ground. Cars are appearing from out of the street.
The game isn't perfect, but it is not that bad
What everyone is saying.
I really love this game so much, I think it's a very intense experience that gets you into the psyche of the characters. PLEASE continue it, I'm fond of Panam and her future with V!! PLEASE continue the game!
The game was unfinished at launch and needs bug fixing and work.
The review is based on 140 hours of gameplay on very hard, on a high end pc.
The good:
1: Fun gameplay, if you go with a hacking stealth build or guns blazing.
2: Beautiful looking game with raytracing, my jaw dropped multiple times during my playthrough.
3: Great characters to interact with during the main story and side quests.
4: Good and interesting story.
5: Level design is good in very many locations and missions, where exploring and choosing a different path can be rewarding.
6: The bigger side quests are great.
The okay-ish:
1: Crafting is serviceable but feels unbalanced in regard to how much materials are needed to keep your favorite gun viable through the game. (maybe just on higher difficulties?)
2: Driving feels okay for most of the cars and bikes, while the lower qualities can feel like tanks.
3: Some implants like double jump change the gameplay, but others feel a little underwhelming.
4: Cyberpsychos quests can be fun fights, but setup should be more like Witcher 3 contracts with investigations and talking to NPCs beforehand.
The bad:
1: Main story is too short, I wish this was longer and more fleshed out, I enjoyed the length of the Wicher 3 and this is not even a third of that.
2: Perk system, has too many do X percentage more damage, or reload faster skills, and some perks are completely useless.
3: Pedestrian and cop AI is horrendous.
4: Melee combat is not as satisfying to use as guns and hacking, needs more attacks and animations.
5: Gangs are a very underused aspect of the game, I wish this was more like Fallout New Vegas.
6: No gwent type mini game or any side actives like gambling.
7: Only one visible implant operation, rest are shop menus.
8: The game was unfinished at launch, where you could find bits and pieces of cut content
I hope I can update my score in the future, so please CDPR keep working on the game and inject more life into Night City.
I'm 300h in, third playtrought, i'll not talk about performance, cause i'm a lucky one in an uneven playfield, but focus about the game itself.
There is potential there to be a true masterpiece, fundations are solid but most of the content seems rought and rapidly finish.
trying to be the best at everything is a tough one, it came close on some aspect, fell pretty hard in others.
the gameplay is challenging on the early stage but it becomes overly easy if you really specialise and don't follow the jack of all trade route.
open world have potential too but i would have perfer that the fixer's missons were locked until we do a certain number of NCPD missions in each sectors before becoming best buddies as soon as we set foot on their turff
the story is superb and immersive but some scripted action sequence are too scripted or nedded to be pure cutscenes. endings are breathtaking but doesn't leave the same taste of pride as they did in the witcher for me.
I have hope it may come though, with the proper modding tool, i can see this game become more populer than a fallout or a skyrim, the foundations are way more solid.
If only it was finished..
