Stay on Target!

I enjoyed playing the game when I stuck to doing the main story when ever possible (getting to the appropriate level through side-missions and then continue) and playing pretty much to keep it fresh. Even though I did not follow the hype until the end when I watched a few of the interviews and talks about the game from CDproject videos on YT; I did get the impression that it would have a 'living breathing world' and with that I concluded that the People and Life of the city would feel 'real' and 'interactive'. It is the lack of interactivity in the general world for the player to engage with that makes anything outside the main-story fall flat. Night City is a nice and pretty backdrop for the main-story to take place in, but don't dive to deep into it or the shallowness of it all will reveal itself. I had a good feeling playing the main-story and thus think it is worth playing and worth 3 stars. I pre-ordered and might not have gotten what I expected, but when focused on the Story i got a pretty good experience.

Absolutely hate this game

The Graphics are fantastic. The gameplay is so annoying for one main reason. How many bullets does it take to kill someone, I play it in easy mode and still die too easilly. I wish I never bought it.

Dual sense support

It clearly states inside of your patch notes that the ps5 controller support PC is here, but apparently when I launch the game on gog app from my desktop I don’t see my controller working. The adaptive triggers are not working the Haptic Touch feedback is still not there. I came back for 3 reasons 1 multiple YouTube reviews saying the game is better now. 2 I can use the Dual sense to feel a new immersion 3 I fought a 3080 recently so looking forward to see the performance but so far I have to say I am disappointed

A Much Better Game Today

After a highly publicized, rocky launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has become a fantastic but still flawed gem. Pros: +Masterclass story and quest design. This is where CD Projekt Red shines. The stories that they tell, and the quests that they design to tell those stories, are A-list examples in the video game industry. I have more fun with their side quests than most games’ main quests. +Memorable characters. +Night City. This is probably the most believable depiction of a large metropolis in gaming. +Gameplay similar to an immersive sim at times. I was surprised at the amount of player agency that the game allowed in completing quests. +The music is varied, fits the world, and is of high quality. +Professional voice acting abounds. Nothing felt phoned in or out of place. Cons: -Bugs. Yes, they’re still there. And while I didn’t encounter anything game breaking, there were certainly enough problems to be annoying. From UI elements getting stuck on the screen (save and reload to remove them) to graphical glitches (watching a character whose hands didn’t render strangle another character), there were too many bugs still present and no real excuse why they haven’t been addressed. -Performance is inconsistent at times. Some sections will absolutely tank your framerates, even with high end hardware. -Boss fights are lame. Thankfully they are few and far between. But they always felt boring, out of place, and tacked on. -The ending sucks. It feels like a completely different person wrote the ending of the story... and he was stoned at the time. Probably the best thing that I can say about Cyberpunk 2077 is that I didn’t want it to end. Whereas most games wear out their welcome with me and I get anxious to finish them, I wanted more to do and explore in Night City, even after nearly 100 hours in the game. I’m just hoping that the upcoming DLC gives it a proper ending; similar to what Blood and Wine did for The Witcher 3.

Thoughtful, immersive RPG at the core

Enough has been said about the game's first year of existence, as Playstation woes polluted the entire dialogue and a pandemic-bored media seized on this non-North American game to savage for hate clicks. Forget all that. I preordered the game several years before launch, played it on launch on a middle-of-the-road PC, and was satisfied. It's a masterpiece. Every sidequest has an interesting or funny story. The city is loaded with details. The NPCs are colourful and as annoying as real city pedestrians. There are so many things to do a player will never have a problem levelling up or finding better gear. If you like Witcher 3's method of combat, storytelling, sidequests, and inventory management, you will find this familiar and enjoyable, as it is the same but in a first person perspective. The game engine has some peculiar issues with how it spawns NPCs and cars sometimes (look forward, look back, new NPCs and cars have magically appeared, what?!) but most of those seem to have been ironed out over the last two yeard of patching. Like Witcher 3, you can get lost doing sidequests. You DO NOT have to do every police scanner mission, every kill or fed-ex quest, there are way too many! They are in the game to help you level up. If you are a completionist, this game will keep you busy for months. The combat is deceptively deep. You can rush around flailing your gorilla arms wildly, but thoughtfully planning your approach and picking your way through your enemies with a variety of hacking, stealth, melee and heavy weeaponry is so much more fun. Plus, the game rewards exploration and clever decisions with XP. In terms of "cyberpunk" this game had a lot to live up to, especially with the genre going mainstream while this was in development, but the game lovingly captures the original 1980s visionary aesthetic and tells a good, but stock, story. The game shines by letting you live out the story from multiple perspectives and explore its moral dimensions.
