Some more polish needed but FUN!

TLDR; An atmospheric rpg-shooter which runs fine on my 5 year old hardware with some minor bugs and weird mechanics here and there. Before starting everyone should include their specs in their reviews. Complaining about tech. issues when the reviewer's machine doesn't fit into the requ. specs if unfair. Check your CPU. If it is 10 years old: get a new one. So: i74770k, GT 1070, 32GB RAM, Win10 (latest as of Dec. 2020), latest GPU driver Technically: The game runs as I expected on my machine. I had absolutely no crashes what so ever and only encoutered minor glitches here and there. Mostly NPCs not doing what they should: stop driving, not fighting, walking in the air. But the not driving part is the most common. I had some quest NPCs not acting as well. Loading times are incredibly fast, settings are in high and ultra without any RTX stuff in about 40-50 fps stable. Gameplay: While I like the gunplay and the RPG aspects to form V in a way I want I feel most skills are only making V slightly better here and there without adding more to it. RPG aspects could be better as well. There are not many dialogue options for my chosen path. BUT most NPCs will act and behave way more realistically than I have ever seen, apart from the street NPCs which are the total opposite. Quest NPCs and characters are very well made an react to what you do more than expected. An there are also many choices in how you do or react to something without making it super obvious like in most games. Unfun?: Driving. I rather walk then drive in this game. There is no way to walk/drive slower as well. Atmosphere Is amazing, overall. The sound design is great, the city feels alive (as long as you don't look to closely or talk to someone) and every district has a feel to it. Everthing is quite dimensional, if that makes sense. Fun And that's what brings me back. While some bugs are annoying the gameplay loop itself is fun! Guns, NPCs, the city, fun! But still needs some Polish polish.

Best Unfinished game ever

You already know this game has major issues. Missing AI routines, balancing issues, driving, cut content, inventory and crafting systems, bugs. But the game has a soul, if it does one thing better than anything else is that it is most entertaining. The strory is emotional and satisfying, characters feel alive and the world could be a real place. If you have a decent PC, I'd recommend you see at least one ending, and save a few more playthroughs and surprices for the next attempt once the game has been patched and completed. The game is unfinished in its current state, but I can't rate the enjoymen of 125 hours I got out of it less then 5 stars. Masterpice that needs another year of development.

I love this game anyway

I bought a bag of bugs with a game as a bonus. I know. I can't play it well on XBOX. I know. But I still love this game. The main story, the side stories, the choices... Unlike the Witcher Series. When I play through it, I kept asking myself, would Garalt act this way, based on the performace of the Witcher novels. But in Night City This is my life, my V, mine. I want to be a pure merc. I want to be a ninja. I like to use a revolver and a samurai sword. I like to drive the 'old' style car. (Oh the driving experience is f**king great, especially for me, one guy that does not know how to drive in real life... This is my life, my V, mine. Hope that CDPR can fix these bugs and get the console version back on line soon. As for new DLCs,,,I'd like to have a good experience on a console first. Always support CDPR. Thank you for bring me the game, the story, the life.

186 hours in game so far...

Most of that was in my first playthrough as a street kid. I'm on my second playthrough as a nomad. There are things I've discovered on my second playthrough that I totally missed first time around. I found walking everywhere and taking my time to explore all the nooks and crannies have opened up a part of the game that's really easy to miss if you're blowing through just the obvious icons on map or just doing the quests. The story is incredibly complex and characters have more depth than most games I've played in the last 10 months. Granted, there are places that feel a little unpolished, like enemy AI and some of the more obvious bugs, like T-posing, are present for me too, but none of it has detracted from my overall enjoyment of the game. I'm already planning a third playthrough as a corpo and can't wait to see what the future holds for night city!

Fun Gameplay, Story subpar for gay men

so I have played practically every side quest I could, I'm 140 hrs deep Im gonna start with the good. - a ton of the map has collision so exploration can be super fun since you can get into really weird places. Small detals i didnt expect to be able to climb on I could and that was nice -Lots of good clothing option and character customization -Lots of gameplay that I found to usually be very fun and generally rewarding! -A lof of the game's systems seemed to work well -Sidequests I found to be often unqiue and engaging. Not always the same types of missions -Overall really fun to play if you're someone who likes to see the game glitch out sometimes . I loved playing this game, but I want to voice some specific greivances that stood out. I wanted to voice my perspective of what its like to play this game as a gay guy. - Certain section of the game force your character to have sexual interactions with women which did weird me out a bit. Not a huge deal overall but I would say it taking the action out of context it is making a gay man (if you are playing V that way like I was) get sexual with a woman and this happens more than once. - The Only Gay male characters that are visible are sex workers or Kerry Eurodyne (not great but I'll live at least there are any) -Kerry is an interesting character but having the gay romance option be at least 70 is... kinda gross? This plays into a longstanding negative stereotype abt gay men being old perverts and having large age gaps in relationships. Usually I wouldn't care, but I loved this game 99% of the time. This deatil sticks out like a sore thumb to me especially when a marketed point of the game was supposed to be LGBT inclusivity. LGBT people are in the game but the followthrough of what it means to be legitimately inclusive is... not there.
