Great game, do not listen to the haters

I usually do not write reviews but I think it's a shame that you currently only hear from haters / people having problems on old consoles. I am currently 60+ hours into the game and have only experienced very minor bugs. Yes, sometimes you can't pick up an item. Yes, there were situations where the UI was a bit off, which could easily be solved by saving / reloading. And yes, sometimes the NPC have some clipping problems / an item they used freezes mid-air. I even had one T-model NPC after about 40 hours of play. But that's about it. I have experienced way worse with other games. And it definitely does not take away the fun of playing this game. The amount of love that went into all the little details. The graphics, the sound, the fully voiced side quests, the immersion that comes from NPC messaging you etc. There's so much to love and I can't wait to finish the main story and will come back for another play through later. If you want to wait some more for them to polish everything - that's cool. But in my experience it is already a lot of fun to play on PC.

Nearly Unplayable.

Normally when you see the word "unplayable" in a review, you can be assured that the reviewer is exaggerating for effect. In this case, however, there are so many game-breaking bugs and such poor optimization in Cyberpunk 2077 that it actually is mostly unplayable. For a while I just smiled and nodded as others complained because although it wasn't a great game, it booted and was technically a program that worked for me. But then...the leopard ate my face too and now the game is completely unfinishable and broken past a certain point. I've never worked in QA but I always kind of assumed that "can complete the game" would be one of the most important testing criteria but I guess Cyberpunk 2077 is breaking new ground even in that respect. If you're curious about the game, that's cool! Maybe wait a year for a whole bunch of patches and then carefully read some current reviews when it's on sale? But don't, under any circumstances, let that Fear Of Missing Out drive your purchasing decision regarding this game. You are not Missing Out on anything you would want to be a part of.

A true Cyberpunk RPG

As a long time fan of the genera from which the game derives it's name I'm happy to say the story, setting, asthetic et al deliver that in spades. As a long time RPG fan with games as far back as Darksun and Planescape: Torment, I'm glad it's delivering that cyberpunk exprience in an RPG where you make choices about your character development [you can't max every stat and skill, you need to make decisions] and offering fully voiced sidequests that are robust enough to be the main plot quests in other AAA titles I've played over the years. While the game is easily worth the price of admission for a fan of cyberpunk settings and RPGs, it does bear mentioning that there are bugs and players might be advised to wait until CDPR fixes Cyberpunk as they did with The Witcher 3. Speaking of The Witcher 3 treatment this game has a lot of content (I'm over 100 hours in and I haven't finished the main story or all the side quests yet) and is slated to get the same treatment as The Witcher 3 when it comes to having both paid, and free, additions to the game. I can't wait to see what the Cyberpunk 2077 equivilant to Blood and Wine will be. TL;DR - Great game, easily worth the price. But wait for bugs to be fixed (and hopefully the issues with remapping keys is one of those bugs and fixed soon, with more than half of pre-orders being on PC the game shouldn't be hard locked into a control scheme that clearly feels designed for controler not KB/M).

Unstable masterpiece

Amazing game, when it works. Too many random crash to desctop for 5 stars, but almost everything else is just superb. - Night city is breathtaking, it actually feels like the NC from cyberpunk pen and paper universe and that by itself is a big achievement perfect playground for endless adventures. - Overall visuals 10/10 Red engine is heavy but worth it. - Gameplay is alot of fun, tons of skills and cybergadget to play with. - The real meat is in the sidequests like W3 are interesting, well written, never generic. - NC is so big is incredible, still walking/driving in streets/alleys I've never seen before after 120+ hours in the game!! Beside stability, my only real complain is about the main story, felt very caged in it with less options then side quests and too much movie-like for my personal taste. Truly is a masterpiece, really hope CDPR priorities are stability and performance before anything else!! DLC, multiplayer, etc etc can wait! In the end merry christmas devs you did it the game is a little miracle, have a good one :)

I've been immersed so far!

I guess the bugs and crashes occur differently for everyone- I've had one game-ending crash(prior to hotfixes) and everything else has been very small and more amusing than trouble. So I can't speak of that part. Mid-range desktop gaming PC and had NVIDIA give me my optimised settings. What I will say is that so far, I've really enjoyed my time with the game. I got into this city really easily, and I have enjoyed the stopping along the way to see what a ? is, deciding to take on a small side gig and carry on. The desire to discover icons seem different than a Ubisoft type of map. Some of the beats have been affecting in a way, and I've enjoyed the dialogue choice or action that fits whether I'm happy or PO'd. Looking forward to finishing it and playing it again with a new character. I've played with both keyboard and gamepad, and driving has certainly been good with only one type of control :) I'm super late Gen X, I wonder if this game was created specifically for me.
