Actual Game Of The Decade

The bugs have been a minor inconvinence for me, so Im lucky. But even that aside, Ive litearlly smashed this game out over 4 days. It's amazing, I hope they iron out the bugs soon.

Can't stop playing. Don't want to

90h in, just finished the prologue (obviously an explorer/completionist). Here's a recap from that perspective: What I like: - environment is breathtaking. Delved deep in the belly of NC for a sense of the underground life. Then climbed up megabuildings to get a beautiful birds-eye view. And some legendary loot of course ;) - randomized NPCs are varied and say hilarious things. Each time I listened to their dialogues I learned something interesting about the world and/or triggered side quests - unique (plot) NPCs have distinctive personalities which captivated me both with appearance as well as voice-over - all story paths are well constructed and distinguishable from one another. I felt as a part of the nomad community when I played a nomad, and the world treated me like a corpo scum when I was one - the soundtrack. Professional work. Genres for everybody. My favourites - Morro Rock and Ritual FM - items. Just the right amount of them and all the types I really need. And again - so variegated! The weapons, the cyberware, the outfits, their designs and descriptions. So much content - bliss - crafting. Rich yet not too intricate - general gameplay. One word - fluid What I don't like: - reserved key bindings. Let me rearrange everything - can't disable autosave or at least change the frequency (available in raw config but not in UI) - double-tap to stow weapon What I want (a.k.a. "MOAR!"): - minigames. I wanna play snooker with that guy at the bar. And use the arcade machines. And new types of hacking too - map filters, i.e. show only stores, quests etc. And they have to be persistent - speaking of persistent, it would be nice if inventory filters did not reset on close Note that CDPR has managed to create two legendary IPs that are vastly different in style and atmosphere - from the grim and rugged medieval to a glittering technocratic future. Many companies cannot break loose from their routine once they achieve success with a given title. To me, this is a feat.

My first pre-order. I regret nothing.

Like everyone should've, I heard the news about the bugs about a week before launch. So I was expecting that. Really, I was already expecting that, because The Witcher 3 had a buggy launch, but alass, I don't really care. Better than CDPR getting more death threats over another delay. The game will be finished by the same time anyway. (Though, the review restrictions were shady, but that's for another time) Now onto the actual game. I dig it. For this being their first FPS, I'm really really impressed by the gunplay. I play difficult FPS games, like Quake, Tribes and Insurgency: Sandstorm on hardcore mode, and I like this gunplay. It's not at Sandstorm's level, but absolutely crackin' for their first FPS. The story grabbed me pretty early on. So far I've only played Corpo, but I can tell how life paths really only decide the prologue and then sprinkles in a few extra ways to solve conversational problems later in the game. Nothing much bigger than that. I like that it's there though. It is an RPG, not GTA. That means, you're responsible for your own immersion. I laugh off the bugs, because they're usually pretty funny. The way the crowds disappear suddenly and don't all react realistically when you start attacking random people isn't much of a problem to me, because you shouldn't do that. It's a world made for you to play around and make stories in, not a world made to spoon-feed you the story. It's like D&D. You can complain that the pices don't animate on their own, but they're plastic and you're being a killjoy, John. The preformance is fine on medium with my RTX 2070 (not Super), and an old i7 4770k OC'ed to 4.2 Ghz. Could be optimized a bit better. My gripes: - Way too low maximum FOV at 100, but if you go into the game directory, and then into \r6\config\settings\platform\pc\options.json, you can fix that yourself. Look for "FieldOfView", and you can just change the max ;) - Character creator uses pre-sets that you mix and match instead of sliders.

Actually pretty darn good

Disclaimer: I have not been following the hype, and dev diaries etc. as such i had no expectations about this game, othere than the setting, and CD-RED work on the witcher series. Despite playing on a fairly old rig, with a 1060 8gb GFX card, i have a steady frame rate, at around 42-45 and not stutterings, and massiv loads of testures. So far i had 2 minor bugs. The first one in the start mission, and one time where i clipped thrue the ground. Otherwise its been smooth sailings. So far i find the story quiete compelling. Your actions do have consequences, but as in real life, being a jerk to somone, can be a advantage right now, but might bite you in the butt later on. Its just not advertised clearly when its a important choise or not, like for eksample in other RPG's The skill sytem is there to support your play style, with a few skills that are really usefull overall, but can take some time to discover. It would be nice if you could reset attibutes aswell as skill, but thats my only gripe with the system so far. Compared to a game like The outer worlds, Cyberpunk actually feels like a living world, and while there are room for improvments, its not as bad as some paint it to be, i actually think its pretty darn good, and one of the few new games this year, that have kept my attention beyond the first 15 hours. With a little more love and care, this game will be a sparkeling sun, right now its a gem.

Liking the game a lot.

I would like to say this game is a well written and put together. A fantastic visual representation of Night City and the denizens within. The story is full of twists and turns which I love and the game play is amazing. The frame rates are smooth even when driving at speed down the roads on the back of a motorbike. The gunplay uses a brilliant use of cover which not many other fps shooters seem to do, which I like a lot. As it allows you to stay in cover and look round the sides or over the top. All in all this game is a brilliant computerised version of the table top rpg Cyberpunk 2020.
