Since then, We don't see Freya again...

I followed Coffee Talk when its demo released, I love coffee so I am willing to try a game with the theme. Traditionally, story, the script, is the soul of a galgame/visual novel, or anything visual-novel-like. From then on, the gameplay come in and expand the effect of storytelling, and the art visualize the soul. I have to praise the dev team, they did a good job to finish the work. As a product, Coffee Talk is develped, completed well in all aspects. As a game or VN, however, it's fatal to have a monotonous story the essential part. If you are interested in this one, try VA-11, Neo Cab. If you are okay without gameplay, try House in Fata Morgana, Narcissus, Clannad, Eden* etc..

A storybook

This is really just a pre-scripted storybook to click through, with no conversation options. The only real interaction is to occasionally make the requested drinks, whilst listening to the story. Making drinks is very simple and doesn't usually require much thought, so it's a brief delay in clicking through the story conversation. There are a few drink-making mini-games aside from story mode, but making drinks is so simple that these just feel unfinished and uninspired. I really like the artwork and chill factor. Just know that this is more of a slow relaxing storybook than a game, so it's not for everyone.

Just an observer

The story seems interesting, the game is pretty chill and it has a cozy atmosphere but you can't really interact with it at all. Why would it not have dialogue choices like all the other good visual novels out there? There's loads of things to say and while the rest of the characters interact friendly and interesting with each other it leaves you feeling like you're no different than the coffee maker. I never thought you could feel like a mute in a visual novel type of game but this is it.

Love this game!

Coffee Talk is an interactive visual novel where you spend the game listening and talking to various characters in your coffee shop while you make and serve coffee. The story is the most interesting part of this, playing as the owner and barista of a coffee shop in Seattle you get to follow a slice of life from that perspective as you meet various people visiting your shop. It is well-written, interesting and you get really attached to the cast as you play through the game - wanting to find out what happens to them, hoping they'll make the right choice in the end and such. The gameplay is mainly focused on the drink making part, there's no dialogue options for example. You take the orders from each character, making them drinks based on coffee, tea, chocolate, etc. adding ingredience as requested. And here's where the hard part is, you need to figure out the ingredients for each drink! There's also two "endless" mode - one freemode where you can play around making drinks and one challenge mode where you are timed making orders. Coffee Talk is definitely a game that I recommend to anyone! Mainly being a visual novel means that it isn't too hard to get into, and it's just relaxing listening to the customers as you make their drink of choice for them. I'm so excited to play the sequel when I get the chance!

Amazingly boring "game"

I've unfortunately wasted my time playing the full version through. I was very early on quite sceptic about "storyline" as it felt as really boring soap opera. But there happened to be couple characters which I thought could possibly create interesting stories. Well I wish I wouldn't have thought so as in the end it's all sloppily written soap opera. I wish I could have spent time back. Well luckily it was on Gamepass and played it for free. If one is expecting remarkable stories and twist. I can help you. There aren't any. Heck there isn't virtually even any gameplay.
