What a horrible night to have a curse!

Someone should have warned the Covenant children: “Never read aloud strange rituals.” Little did they know that their childish game would unleash unspeakable horrors upon the unsuspecting world. Now, many years later, Jeremiah Covenant, the last sane sibling, lies on his deathbed knowing his fragile existence is the only thing restraining the curse. His only hope is Patrick Galloway, a fellow soldier from the Great War and a specialist in abolishing evil abominations.

Welcome to Clive Barker’s Undying, a horrifying FPS romp of curses, strange, mad creatures, and family dysfunction gone terribly wrong. Step into the shoes of Patrick Galloway as you attempt to banish the evil using your arcane magic and the ever-dependable six shooter of metal grace. Pray to whatever god you believe in because this journey may end up costing your soul. First person shooter meets the contemporary master of horror fiction, don't miss it!

I wish they finished the series

80/100 I'm rating this based on the fact that it is from early 2001 and was actually being developed as early as 1998. The problems. Two game braking glitches, both making boss battles unwinnable, one during the final boss. (I don't know if either of these are normal or just my copy of the game.) Not a good sound track. No tutorial. Mediocre controls Bad inventory/ gun/ magic screens and control. The good. For 2001 visually amazing. This would have blown my mind as a teen. Crazy, weird, strait from the mind of Clive Barker enemies. Hugely differing landscapes in different levels. Better story than any other shooter I've played and I've played a lot. The cool buildings and geographical features. Gory and sometimes scary, but not too much. Puzzles that aren't overly complicated or logic bending. (Just explore.) Actually requires some skill to survive. (New games tend to have little actual threat.) Biggest part is the Story, with journal based written exposition, videos and game clues. Sadly its a one play through type of game that never got the expansions, multiplayer mode, and sequels that had been planned for it. The story of its making and canceling is fairly interesting, but very sad considering the content we could of had.

Welcome to the house of MAdness! #&?

I used to reffer to this game as Clive Baker's Undying for some reason. Anyway it was a big suprise when I got this game - positively. You want to buy it? Buy it do not hesitate if you and oldschool medieval style fan.

A horror game that is actually scary

Best played with surround sound headphones in the dark. When I first played this back in 2001 it scared the beejezus out of me. What makes it so scary? The sound design. They really nailed it.

Probably the best PC horror game ever

This was just brilliant one of the scariest games I've ever played - great setting, plot and pacing. The ending was a bit "creature feature" but what the hell. Recommended unreservedly

Unbelievable

There are 3 things that make this game amazing, and 2 that make me cry. Good: 1. Very imaginative graphics style especially later in the game and when scrying in the mansion. 2. Tense atmosphere with genuine jumpy moments. 2.5. Good bosses 3.The amazing title music, up there with Deus Ex. It makes you happy to sit at the main menu for hours on end. The bad: 1. The Irish/Oirish accent 2. Clunky feel to some of the abilities and levels. Overall one of my favourite games not the most replayable games but its like a good book, excellent to play once every few years,
