Clive Barker's Undying

I heard of this game when I was a kid, never played it. Well now I finished it and I am surprised mostly in a good way. This game has great level design, great atmosphere and great sound design. It is not a shootert, more like System Shock/Bioshock and that is fine because this is primary a horror shooter. I would've given it a higher rating but there are some things that partly ruined the whole experience. Most of the boss fights are awful and the human AI is a joke. I will not nitpick and list other minor flaws. All in all a great atmospheric game that is well worth playing.

Great game. Do yourself a favor and play it. Do not play Clive Baker's Jericho - it's garbage. Play this one. It's awesome.

This was probably the best 1st person game I played back in the day before I mothballed the old PC. It's got a great story, acceptable graphics for the era, good difficulty level and incredible atmosphere. I'd heartily recommend the use of headphones and to turn the lights out when you're playing. I'm tempted to buy it from here as I don't know if I'd need the CD to play the copy that I have installed... and I don't even know where that's gone, or if I still have it! Tempted at the price!

Atmospheric, Incredible, Haunting, Deep. Undying is still one of my favorite games to play. In fact, I wrote an e-mail to the developers 'The Astronauts', that made the incredible new game called The Vanishing of Ethan Carter 2014. I asked them to consider remaking Undying for their next project. With the Unreal 3 engine, I can only imagine how ridiculously good that game will look, feel and play. Especially with the talent that folks at the The Astronauts have! Not sure if my e-mail will get through, but hopefully it will be read and considered. Hint *Some of you might wanna put your two cents in as well to them :)* Hell, they can't think it wouldn't be a good game to redo! It would put them on the map both for, having the balls to actually remake a classic, and if done correctly, being THE best Horror game ever made. PERIOD!! What do you say folks? Undying - The Return, sounds like a good title, eh?
