An absolute gem...
First of all: I have to admit that games nowadays can't really drag me into a deep state of immersion anymore. Of course this might be because I am getting older (turning 40 soon), but I have another theory: The hyperrealistic graphics, localisation of everything and as few text as possible are ruining my imagination. There are hardly any spots left in which you have to add some of your own fantasy. But this game right here seems to pull me back into my childhood / teenager years. I bought this game and instantly played for about five constant hours straight. I can't remember which game in the past ten years hooked me like that - except maybe for the Witcher series. Some people might dislike this, but this game is really old fashioned. I see this as a huge plus. My Pros: - Amazing story: So many pieces are being put together in such a nice way. The characters are all lovable so far and I am really excited to get through the whole plot. - Very simple gameplay: Don't misunderstand me, the fights can be quite demanding. But there are not hundreds of different functions you have to learn - like in RD2 or many modern jRPGs for example. There is a simple menu movement, only a few buttons you have to use and there is no way you forget how to play this game. - Fights: I love the fighting system. Very simple but in a challenging way. It's simply fun and - in my opinion - just as it should be in a jRPG. - Music: Beautiful music, very well composed. - You have huge powersuits - I am really looking forward how they will be implemented in the further game. My Cons: - It COULD be a little bit more for adults. While I am still in the beginning of the game, it sometimes feels that the game can't really decide who the target group is. But this is a very small contra point. All in all, I am very thankful to have the pleasure to play a gem like this again. Thank you, Matthias Linda!
