Not my type of game
I'm not going to say that it is a "bad" game. I genuine want to like this, unfortunately I couldn't get into it, after trying to play this multiple times.

Terrible PC port
Lots of navigating unnecessarily nested menus clearly meant for consoles. And you can't even use your mouse to do so! It literally does nothing whatsoever in this game. What a waste.

Good, at first, and then it flops
I will mnake this short. I generally love JRPG/RPG/2D games, but the biggest issues I have always had that often take the fun and relaxation out of these games is the following: 1} They always start out reasonable, smooth and fun, but then past the refund period, or close to 30 to 50 percent of the way through, it goes from realistic to too hard and frustrating. 2} Game makers seem to think everyone wants games that hold you hostage and piss you off! NO WE DO NOT. Fun to me is being relaxed, not having to overthink and be stressed. 3) There is places in this game that are literally so frustrating, I stopped finally and uninstalled it. There is NO way this is fun. I cannot recommend this. Note: One big reason why I think people use cheats, trainers and pirate. I am not advocating piracy. But I think I know why many do it. They do not want to pay for games they cannot refund when the game gets too hard, past the refund period, or they are tired of trying out games and waiting for their money to come back. It is an absolute hassle. Make games with the ability to support all types of players. We would appreciate it.

Perfect name for game
"Chained Echoes" Where you'll feel chained the entire playthrough due to the linear presentation, the battle system even works out that you'll *have* to select particular moves without much room for a 'creative fight'. That's lazy, and not an RPG in the traditional sense. No role playing, just a linear campaign at best. And of course, a game that aims to borrow from the likes of Chrono Trigger is merely an echo of the great RPGs it tries to shameless 'copy', but there's nothing the same at all since even Chrono Trigger wasn't exactly linear and was released 30 years ago. Save the money, give it a miss. Devs, if you don't like this review, maybe don't treat your audience like idiots with a lazy game that is full of lies in its promotional material.
