OK game
It was fun, but it got repetitive after a while due to the back tracking. A lot of the power ups were pointless because they were not required to complete the game. None of the achievements unlocked even after I completed all areas.

So close....
I was looking at this game for months, really loved the idea behind it and couldn't wait to get it and then I did!! The being the monster experience is awsome, chasing down humans and squeezin around is all good fun, but the map system... At this point I've played for 3.5 hours and out of those I think I've spent 2 hours trying to figure out where should I go next, it's AWFUL. I don't remember this happening to me since gaming in 90's. Honestly not sure if I'm going back to game cause it's frustrating as hell.

So much better than most games of 2020
Don't get me started on Animal Crossing (awful gameplay) or The Last of Us (haven't played the 2nd one but read about it and it's more of what I hated in the first). Carrion does what it does and does it WELL! The pixel art adds to the disgusting feeling of the game as does the work on the sound (oh my those screams, delicious!). Devouring those puny humans is fun and there's a nice progression, although you do tend to get a bit lost sometimes, there's no map and indicators (except the ones you get from the surrounding "nests") but the game isn't very long thus it's not very important (the beast moves very quickly too). I personally cannot wait for an eventual follow-up. :D tldr; The Thing but you're the human-devouring monster.

Mechanics take all the fun out of it
Whoever designed this game figured that: - having the humans still being vastly more powerful than you was a good idea (I love just living because the enemy doesn't actually want to kill me) - having powers but not being able to use them was fun - having to constantly backtrack to downgrade myself - have levels that were clearly designed to have some weak puzzles all over the place was a good idea and the basis of a fun game. It's too bad. Because it is a fun concept. But if I'm playing a monster that can grow... I'd like for a random soldier with a basic shield to not just be able to block my attacks and kill me by just touching me. And I'd like to actually be able to constantly grow. And not being forced to shrink back down, sometimes clearly just so that the next fight would be harder. Just put all the mechs and the soldiers with shields and flamethrowers in the same room and kill me already. You shouldn't be able to get out of this place. They're letting you...
