Silly Devs Patched Out Sequence Breaks
This game had me really hyped up. As a long-time fan of the Metroid series, particularly Super and Prime (1), and the speedrunning related to those games, AND -really- liking the aesthetic which Carrion possesses . . . I was gearing myself up for a gameplay experience that would be rewarding to players who sequence-broke the game. Regretfully, it seems the devs for this game don't share that sentiment. They patched out a few wonderful breaks that existed in this game. That really diminishes the re-playability and the value of this game for speedrunning. That's really quite disappointing. Such a simple thing would really justify the $20+ price tag in my opinion. Hopefully they'll re-examine what they've done and reintroduce some sequence break opportunities. It's certainly not too late for them to do so! Still, overall, the aesthetic (including sound, music, and visual assets) all come together to make an appealing (albeit incredibly short) experience. Here's hoping for a Carrion 2!
