Surprisingly fun! I got this in a sale and wasn't quite sure what to expect. I'd never heard of the series before, but the reviews got me interested. The game was a point and click adventure game with a good story. The best part of the game was the witty, hilarious dialogue. The animation was a bit lacking (it's an older game so, not unexpected), and some of the puzzles were a bit of a stretch (although many were surprisingly intuitive). Lots of hints were used. Overall, I had a great time with this game, would definitely recommend!
This is the definition of a gem and is the best adventure game I have played with Longest Journey coming a close second. The immersion and story were very well done. Revolution Software puts out great games.
To this day I still regularly play Broken Sword 1. Why? Because of the story, the characters, the graphics and the puzzles. You cannot help but being pulled into the adventure.
The Director's Cut adds a few elements without actually leaving out anything - except maybe that the beginning is now a little slower that originally intended.
Still, the Nico-episodes add a certain depth to the character which I think is ultimately a more than matching trade to the slow beginning.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
