Mark, a man out of time, searches for his lost brother Don, in a far-flung futuristic era ruled by highly advanced technologies which are both revered and reviled. Your surroundings hold echoes of a desolate past, and glimpses of a dark future that has yet to be written by your actions. Be prepared to face many tough choices that will shape this land long after you complete your journey.

BEAUTIFUL DESOLATION is brought to you by THE BROTHERHOOD, the studio behind STASIS (Adventure game of the year 2015) and CAYNE.
It's an interesting isometric game from a South African studio, heavily drawing from South African lore in terms of the plot. Like most reviews say - the artistic design is fantastic, however the gmeplay can get snoozy at times. It's worth seeing it to the finish though as the story leaves you wanting to reflect on the many moral dilemmas and choices. I don't think this game is for everyone but I enjoyed it.
What a fresh and extraordinary experience. Loved the writing and the characters featured here. I'm amazed that a modern game could be this well-written, but I guess not being an American-made game helps in that regard (South Africa is far away from the Nightmare of Mensis, aka USA). The developers ought to be proud of themselves for creating this masterpiece. Congrats from Brazil!
I bought this game despite the warnings that the gameplay is rather underwhelming, because it looked just so damn gorgeous - only to find out that those warnings were understatements. While the game is rather beautiful, all I did for all of the four hours I've played this game was backtrack. That would be fine if there was a way to quickly revisit places, but I spent so much time waiting for the protagonists to get places that the quite charming presentation really wasn't enough to persuade me to come back to the world of Beautiful Desolation.
Maybe the game has more success marrying its gameplay and narrative further down the line, but I will never know.
Note: I'm only giving more of a preference to the experience

Since I rarely enjoy the game scenery, even if I do, I don't linger for long inspite of it's beautiful visuals. This may be as well be point-and-click as said by another review that it can be pixel hunting and the roaming around the map can be tedious when you remember what you need to do instead of enjoying the scenery. .
Speaking of, there's backtrack. Now I don't mind this but the game could've given some more hints on where to check and some more character thoughts so that the backtracking wouldn't be tedious.
This game have good tone from the get go but once get to travel around cities and once you got to travel through portal this game just becomes fetch quest glore. I will tell you once you bring me this.... I will help you once you find this.....etc.
