been playing for over 70 hours managed to finish the man game and this game is just PHENOMENAL one of the best strategy games ive ever played i jumped into it a complete noob and the learning curve is amazing the tactics are amazing it didn't cause me any issues at all besides some minor lags in rare occasions but all in all the game is fanfreakingtastic 5/5 from me

Great game for anyone who likes to run around in Mechs and cause desctruction and havoc. So far about 15h in and love it more with each mission. The plot is kinda generic but that is not a reason I bought this game anyway. I can only recommend hope to see more of the Battletech video games (miss the old MechWarrior games).

So let me start off by saying this game is not the tabletop, if you want a game that is closer to the original tabletop the MegaMek is what you are looking for. NOW, if you want an evolution of the the tabletop game then you have found that game. The single player campaign amazing, the story is compelling, the artwork is fantastic, and the soundtrack is spot on. The fact that there is also multiplayer skirmish is just icing on the cake. On top of it all the game is built on a framework that could give us years of expansion packs and immersive stories. BUT, there is some bad, the AI could be better (you can tweak the AI JSON files on your own), and there is some need of performance optimizations. This game is not easy, but I love that it is a challenge to keep company funded and operational. I also see several complaining that the missions Skull rating is off, well all I can tell you is that is by design and sometime your intel is wrong, but going back to the AI, it isn’t that the individual pilot AI is overall bad but they do not seem to always work together as a lance, however if one of your pilots/mechs is in trouble they will focus on it and will likely take it down. I would have given this a 4 but I am more than confident that HBS will correct it all. For the record I am playing on a MacBook Pro Retina (2015) i7 2.8, 16GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2GB, macOS 10.13.4 1440x900, Medium preset (Motion Blur Off, High Quality UI On) and it is smooth with little wait time but will start to experience slow load time at around hour 4 of play. Closing and launching the game again fixes it.

Well first of all the game is amazing. The first few missions are punishing to new players, My tip for those first new player missions would be to take the Cbills first for the first few missions until a story point happens! Also don't let your pilots get killed its detrimental to your cause. The graphics are good for the money spent on the game, but the more important aspect is the game is.. Great. I can't wait for a sequels!!! I recommend you buy the game so they can keep rolling forward with this. TLD: Buy the game , take the cbills first few missions , think tactically, don't head rush into everything.

BattleTech is an amazingly fun turn based tactics/strategy game with deep mechanics and many degrees of freedom when it comes to customizing your units. The Story so far (about 40h in with a lot of side missions) is compelling and keeps me interested. I can tell it comes from Harebrained Schemes, who did a very good job on their recent Shadowrun games as well. The fantasy of managing your mercenary company is delivered well and at the beginning the tough financial situation keeps you on your toes. I really feel like living from paycheck to paycheck sometimes, expecially when a mission goes awry. I will surely be playing a lot more of it and can wholeheartedly recommend the game to any fan of turn based tactics games with an overlying management layer. Every fan of the Battletech Tabletop game will be pleased by the amount of mechs, customization and lore this game offers.
