great rpg, with some serious grinding
Battlechasers is more than a run of the mill turn based combat rpg , with interesting abilities that sinergize between characters and a lot of perks that modifies your skills yioou can end up with some seriously powerful setup, but it will never feel overpowered since enemies can also use some powerful buffs and debuffs to eat through your defenses. The art style is catoonish and colorful, it has a good variety zones to explore and procedurally generated dungeons with a plethora of side quests to keep you busy. The good: + most skills require you to plan your attacks to get the best of them + character perks can be switched on and off for easy customization + technically you can activate all the perks if you got the points + enemies can be tough even if you have the best gear + lots of secret bosses + love the art style and the music that go hand in hand to create a pleasant experience + fishing minigame is the best kind of miinigame The bad: - Your ger will always be subpar to your level and dungeons drop gear 4 levels below the enemy level (ie, a legendary dunfgeion run will have lvl 17 enemies, but will drop lvl 13 loot), even at max level (30) the best gear is level 27 - crafting stations can only be found inside dungeons (they unlock at town with story progression, but still, I didn't enchant my gear for the longest time because is the last one to unlock) - Knolan and Alumon are mechanically terrible characters (sucky dps/healer hybrids), the game could easily ditch them and make a static 4 man party with the rest, even more so because characters outside the party get zero xp so is an extra grind to keep all the characters at the same level (not worth it imo). Overall the game is good, and I hope to see more of Gully and the gang in the future.
