Baldur's Gate in name only
Obviously made by casuals, for casuals. The 5e rules make a complete mockery of what used to be DnD, and the changes to the lore actually destroys continuity between BG 1-2 and this one. It is a sad state of affairs when franchises gets dumbed down for the cheering masses of normies, and this is sadly one of them. This is how DnD and Baldur's Gate dies - With thunderous applause.

It's on the right track
I've played a couple of hours and so far it feels pretty much what I expected, a Larian D&D game. The combat feels great, I like the roll mechanic both active and passive. The character animations are great except for the mouth. A lot of polish needed, but it is early access so understandable. I'd like to see a bit more options regarding character appearance, so far it's just fixed prefaces, no way to shape it given how much you see your character up close I think it will be nice to customize it as much as possible.

So far great!
This is my initial opinion after only a few hours of play, will update later on It is beautiful! it has exceed my expectations in that regard. Combat it's taking me a bit to get used to. Not sure how I would like after more hours of play the fact that they translated the ttrpg rules (one action one bonus action and movement) as they are... It might cause some combats are way too long. Maybe the D:OS2 system would work better? I dont know. Definitely happy it is not "real time with pause" 4 chars party for me is better than bigger, less micromanagement. About the price, seriously, stop complaining that more than 200 people wants to get paid for 4 years of work and the company recover the investment. It is actually quite cheap. Bugs: some of then are quite hilarious! :)

Sigh, I am an idiot
First lets get some stuff out of the way. Loved Divinity, I put unbelievable amount of hours in it and brought in some fresh converts. And I want to love this too. But I am paying $60 to beta test the game and the first bug is that I can't get past char creation screen. I wish I was joking. So yeah, I am an idiot for buying this stuff early. I genuinely just made the world a little worse for my inability to wait and have Larian actually work out all the bugs. So what's next developers? We pay you for the tools so that we can make our own adventure?
