Description

In the distance, a glimmer of light pierces the darkness and shock waves begin to roll your craft. An unknown object descends upon you. Systems indicate Torpedo! The predecessor to the AquaNox series, Archimedean Dynasty is a submarine-simulation set in a post-apocalyptic world on the ocean floor. Lore rich Freespace under water!

I played this as a kid and its just amazing. The world it creates is amazing. Obviously its graphics are aged, but its still fun to play now.

Awesome Game

Sometimes you go back to old game and you realize they still hold up great! Archemedean Dynasty is an example of that. Sure the controls mightget a buit using to, since you cannot change the keybindings, but it still plays great. Story and dialogues are fun too. Also, read the manual, as it gives a lot of backstory on the world of Aqua that is fascinating.

one of the first games I played on my pentium II pc, it might not be everybody's cup of tea but it's a great spin on the 90's sim formula. Unique storytelling, setting and surprisingly well defined world and lore make it stand out from the likes of freespace or wing commander. Combat takes a bit of a build up to get fun but it's surprisingly complex with different type of torpedoes, guns and sonars whcih all come into play in an underwater physics simulation. I remember geting so much into it that I completed it back then in the 90's and it's honestly a blast to be able to re-visit it now. I'm surprised at how well it aged, at lest in my eyes (perhaps it's the nostalgia speaking ;)
