Alpha Protocol

I got this day 1 when it released on PC and encountered a few minor bugs during my first playthrough, but like most titles, I never experienced the crazy stuff some people reported. If you like a more-than-competent third-person shooter, I recommend this game. If you like combat and minigames that make really cool use of the powers you unlock, I enthusiastically recommend it. But if you like dialogue and choices that make you feel like every path makes sense and is fascinating to watch unfold, I demand you buy this game. This, in my opinion, is Avellone at his best. The objective is the only priority, which means you put aside everything personal (and forget about JRPG teenage angst) and do what you must to complete the mission. This doesn't mean it's devoid of connections--you'll figure out who to trust and who to watch like a hawk, and learn how to leverage good and bad rapport. Playing it just felt like being a grown-up from start to finish.

Okay, so I have actually never before played this game. Grabbing this version from GOG is my first experience with Alpha Protocol. While in degree aiming took some time to get attuned to (longer you aim, more accurate shot/critical hit, also note distance) and stealth was at first bit like gambling to understand how it all works, I genuinely enjoyed playing game through. Also aiming and stealth aspects are quite easy to manage after the mechanic clicks with you. As for discussions and choices, they do have some impact on how the story develops and progresses. Depending on your choice of what to do first and where will have their own spices for conversations which was very nice. Ultimately I guess there are couple different main endings (with bunch of different, slight variations). This is also one of the very few games I started new playthrough after finishing it first time, taking different stand with people and seeing new boss fights, facing completely new events... I really am enjoying this, nevertheless of some clunkiness and small bugs here and there. Definitely recommend for anyone who can withstand some.. oddities from yesteryears and can enjoy outdated mechanics/graphics.

The Game is a Mix of Series as 24, NCIS, Bourne and also has a good amount of Metal Gear in it. Never really had it on my Radar, but this Game is more Fun than i did anticipate. It has its minor clunky Moments, but nothing gamebreaking or too annoying. The Skills you can set and the Interactions with the NPCs add a good Amount of Replayability. First, because it changes the Way you proceed through the Levels. Will you sneak around as Solid Snake or shoot your Way through like Rambo?.. Or use your Fists. The Way you talk to People will also lead into different Situations, treat them like an A-Hole, be cool or professional.

Yes, it's janky. Yes, Thorton sounds like a douche more often than it should be intended. Yes, the game was more ambitious than it needed to be, but this is a true gem. Thanks GOG for bringing it back.
