Alpha Protocol

I'm glad it's on GOG. Highly recommended game. Gameplay is a bit mediocre, but the conversations, the story, the characters.... the level is crazy in those aspects. I played it 4 or 5 times back in the day, it's time to play it again. If you like RPGs you can't miss it. Long live Obsidian

Alpha protocol is or can be played as splinter cell the rpg. might look aged but the roleplaying is a blast and finishing missions your way is so much. highly recommend a xbox one controller, ps4 controllers are a little sensitive on the lockpicking. native controller support tho is fantastic without needing third party apps. game is worth every penny if u like dragon age or splinter cell

I love this one. I love that you can play it in any order and develop relationships with characters at different times that can wildly influence different events. I love the variety, the stealth, the writing and voice acting. Your class archetypes can be broken down into The Three Bs. Bond - Seduction, Gadgets and Pistols Bauer - Aggression, Shotguns and SMGs Bourne - Professionalism, Stealth and CQC The upgrades when you level up are always useful and the relationships with other characters can be crucial... in some situations, people loving you too much can be as detrimental as people despising you. Also, people disliking you can be as helpful as people liking you. It's so well thought out. One mission is a politically manoeuvred conversation in an Italian gelateria with a (potential) enemy. One mission is a frantic boss fight against a coked-up Russian '80s disco gangster to the blaring audio of Autograph's classic "Turn Up The Radio." It's equal parts sensible and bonkers, deadly serious and darkly irreverent, action packed and slow paced. I bought and played it at full price on original release and loved every moment of it. If you like RPGs/ImSims or the spy thriller genre, then this is the best (and only?) choice.

I first played this game years ago on Steam and was extremely surprised with how innovative the dialogue system was. Your choices actually do make a difference with this title. People you suspected as enemies can be changed into allies. You can do the exact opposite as well if you want. You can romance characters or piss off people. All the choices you make either make the game more difficult or easier. It’s all up to you. This is as good of a James Bond RPG game we will ever get. Tons of customization options for clothing to wear and weapons to use in a lethal or non lethal way. Remember when you used to have to play the game to Unlock features? This sort of brings me back to when developers were able to play around and experiment more with gaming. We are slowly coming back to that. Play this game and experience something that is totally unique on its own with memorable characters and a damn fun story.

Always thought that Alpha Protocol is one of those extremely underrated games, I bought the game back in the day and after some reviews I thought it was a bad decision... The bad decision was to read those reviews. I enjoyed this game so much, and now finally playing the game again is still as good as back in the day! Yes, it's clunky, yes, it has some bugs, yes, the voice acting it's weird sometimes, but I found this game so enjoyable even with all it's problems. If you enjoy RPGs, give it a try, you won't regret!
