At first, I found Unreal 2 strange and disappointing in direct comparison to the first game. They were always advertising it with this lady saying the graphics could now do curves! :D But she was more of a sidekick, and yeah, less there than you'd want. But after playing for a while, you're rewarded with an exciting story. The characters were surprisingly well-developed and voiced. They were likable, and the ending was very sad. The last level (I think it was the last one) was something I hadn't experienced in any shooter before, and I haven't seen it like that again to this day. First, you're on a strange ship for a while, and later on the same ship, but due to the story, the "map" changes, and the familiar surroundings seem completely different. They kept rotating. It was a real experience, because you had to find new paths. I think I still have the CD and the box. It's a shame you can't simply "convert" old Unreal games with the new editor. It would definitely be worth a look again.
