The typing of the dead is an unforgetable title that deserves to be resurrected in all it's campy undead glory.
Everything about this game is so over-the-top campy it's amazing. The voice acting and the dialouge translations are terrible, the sound effects are cheesy and some of the enemy behavior is just downright hilarious, but this is all what made the game so good.
Who could forget the agents running around with a Sega Dreamcast strapped to their backs with keyboards running around shooting zombies?
How can you not laugh when you see a zombie with the words "God is dog" coming at you?
When I was a teenager, I had the demo version of this game which had the first level of the campaign and the special character minigame where you would shoot silly objects, such as ladels and plungers, being thrown at you by zombies standing in a row. I played it more than I had ever played a videogame demo before.
When I was in my mid twenties, I finally got to play the full version on GameTap (anyone remember that?), and it did not disappoint. The game was a B-rate masterpiece.
When GameTap went under, I couldn't find the game anymore, and I've been looking for GOG to release it ever since.
I tried playing The Typing of the Dead Overkill, and it was a complete disappointment. To many f-boms, too much realistic gore, and just lacking that cheesy humor from the original.
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I would gladly rise from the grave for a chance to get my hands on this game from GOG :D
