Story:Svea Rike is a 1997 turn-based strategy video game based on the history of Sweden. The title roughly translates to "Swedish Realm".
It is wort nothing that this game is technically Europa Universalis 1, Svea Rike II was Europa Universalis II and Svea Rike III actually starts to resembles the Europa Universalis we actually saw coming. This is therefore not only for the Swedish audience, but it's a cult classic need to be made available to all lovers of Europa Universalis. And while playing they can learn and enjoy a piece of Swedish history =)
Fun nostalgia is also that the game was made a board game, and the expansion is (as far as I know) one of the more expensive ones to get a hand over.
This game had me very invested as a kid. The historical events taught me a lot about Swedish kings, scientists, artists and how events like the Reformation shaped Sweden. Granted, I was not very good at this game.'s war part and kid me was not ashamed to use the game's built in cheats. I would love to try to play this again and refresh my history knowledge. There are also the mini-games, which were really fun and shook up the gameplay a bit.
It's not super replayable. Playing as a different noble house pretty much only means you'll start somewhere else, but besides that it's a good game.
One of the games i played the most in my childhood. And it is good to learn kids about the swedish royalty history at the same time as you have fun. I played it a lot together with my brother and my parents. I still even have the game disc at home.
It is so diverse. Every run depends a lot how you manage you troops, resources and if you want to fight a lot or want to keep peace.
Since it is not suppported on newer machines anymore it would be nice to have it on gog and make it compatible with newer machines.
Sweet old memorys from my childhood. Plz, plz make this a dream come true. Its a historical and a game all in one. First time i played this was in school, i was 10 years old.
Amazing game! Made from a board game. Very interesting historical aspects telling the Swedish story of kings and famous people. While you "decide" the outcome of the boarders and collect points and money in the mini games.
Would be great to be able to play this old school classic.
Played it for the first time when i was little and was bad at it.
Now years later i want to play it again and want a rematch and discover the nostalgia it has on me.
