Story:Pokémon Emerald Version is a sister game to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Emerald Version provided the main storyline with more depth and length, as well as making small aesthetic changes to the world and adding unique animations for each Pokémon.

This game, and Gen 3 as a whole, have my favorite memories of Pokemon. I loved exploring every little hidden nook and cranny of the map (including underwater) and running all over trying to get to my berry harvests in time :)
Lots of people consider Emerald the definitive Pokemon game not only on GBA, but in general, and there's very good reason for that. Hoenn is a very sensibly designed region for the most part, and Emerald effectively takes what Ruby and Sapphire had, polishes the uglier parts, and makes some good parts better while adding new story and gameplay content, while also not invalidating the other GBA games by still having version exclusives. Emerald alone perfectly defines the GBA era of Pokemon very succinctly.
I'd love to see Pokemon Emerald and other older Nintendo games get native PC ports on GOG. I would honestly even be okay with an emulated re-release as an easy way to get the ROM, as this and many other Pokemon games have becoome prohibitively expensive to find secondhand. Online battling and trading would be great as well.
I've only ever played Pokemon Yellow and Crystal. I saw Chuggaconroy's Emerald LP that looked neat. Therefore, I thought playing this would also be a fun experience.
So I don't have a story yet, but I hope to have. Since I don't have the device to play this one.
Gen 3 is my favorite series of Pokemon games hands down. The Hoenn region is so well designed not only in terms of variety but also with how it fits with the game's core narrative. Let's be real, you wished you could live in Fortree City or Pacifidlog Town. There's so much optional content and hidden secrets that I found myself playing it for dozens of hours as a kid back in 2006. Some yokel on IGN said the remake of this game had too much water but in my opinion there isn't enough lol.
I'd love for Nintendo to port over any of the older Pokemon games at a fair price on GOG since they're all stuck on platforms that haven't been relevant since the early 2010 and are worth hundreds of dollars to own.

Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed.
The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo.
As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity.
Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control.
