Best atmospheric isometric out there

I have been looking for such a game for a while now. A diablo 1 ish game with a rich atmosphere where you are afraid of moving on. It feels fresh in all its detail and advanced combat system. As it stands now it is totally worth the money. But I am very excited for its future as well since it is an ambitious project which will add a whole lot of new and complex features . Excited about AI, dialogue, thaumaturgy and of course an open world (in the "main game" Sui Generis)

As if Dark Souls mated with QWOP

This game is pretty amazing. The arena mode alone is incredible and the dungeon crawling is unique. The realistic physics and relatively unscripted animations makes for memorable and emergent gameplay. It's a little rough around the edges and it is not overly long but its something I have come back to several times since completing it and if you are interested in seeing new ideas well implemented then its well worth a whirl.

Really different and REALLY fun.

It's a really great game with some very interesting physics based combat. If you're a fan of ragdoll like me then this is the game for you! 4 stars for being awesome. -1 star for being incomplete (lacking ranged weapons and some skill trees) the rating will change when the rest of the content is added.

Atmosphere like no other existing game

There are many things in this game to talk about, but I want to focus on one that hit me the most. Thank you Bare Mettle for making me fear again. I love horror in the games but I hate constant tension (upheld by terrible music) and jump scares, that's why I never play most games branded as "horror". Exanima does what I never knew I needed. Fear in this game is about constant fear for your precious life. What really makes it for me is that you aren't completely defenseless, and your enemies aren't all powerful horrors, it's just that running away from unknown is often the best idea. And if you think you are starting to get comfortable with fighting things head on, the game gives you a new reason to run like a little girl.

Carefully crafted

The atmosphere is dark and intense, the NPC's are complex (even though they don't speak), and the combat is new and challenging. While the controls are awkward at first, they add depth and a vehicle for growth of the player, not just the player character.
