Since its first demo was released in the Fall of 2012, The Pit has become an indie hit with its blend of Roguelike action and sci-fi depth! Players were challenged to survive 30 floors of The Pit using one of three characters – the Marine, the Engineer, and the Scout – then in The Pit: MindGames players were given two new characters – the Psion and the alien Tarka Ranger – and ten more floors to survive through, as well as a wealth of new items, recipes, weapons, and nasty creatures to fight!
To celebrate the success of the series, we’re releasing this Gold edition, which not only gives you the game, the expansion, and all the free content we added along the way, but we’re adding three new playable characters – The Hiver Warrior, the Liir Seeker, and the Morrigi Striker! Now you can test yourself against The Pit using all the major races from the Sword of the Stars universe!

I just dont get it, why there are people who gave this game bad rating just because GOG made some mistake with the release... its not changing the quality of this game in any way... and this game is epic...

It's turn based sci-fi version of dungeons of dreadmore and quite frankly DoD has a funkier experience.
I have tried to stick with the pit, going back to play anouther level or two here and there, but it just feels so bland and uninspiring.
It could be just the fact i'm a marine class; but it seems you can't keep up with the repairs on your equipment, or understand the concept ofread more food without a take away shop instructing you and frankly i see no reason why this game couldn't of been smoother in it's motion a bit like Alien Shooter. There also doesn't seem to be much of a penalty for dropping a grenade at your own feet *rolls eyes.
There doesn't seem to be much in the way of storyline to tie in the fact that your suppose to be in the Sword Of The Stars universe and frankly if someone did a sci-fi graphics mod for DoD you'd be hard pressed to find anything keeping you here.
In summary it's a lacklustre turn based search or shoot that needs greater flexibility in it's crafting system so you're not constantly lugging around stuff you rightly can't ever seem to put into use.

"Includes: Sword of the Stars: The Pit, Sword of the Stars: The Pit Gold Edition Upgrade, and Sword of the Stars: The Pit MindGames".
As it stands, this purchase does NOT include the core game "Sword of the Stars: The Pit". Waiting for that to be fixed. :-/
