  • Every table has unique missions and scoring secrets!
  • Ramps, rails, flippers, pops--every table feature is rendered in full 3d!

You’ll flip out over the coolest, fastest, most innovative quicksilver ball-basher in the known universe! Across five savage, fully-animated tables, from the ricochet riot of Firestorm to the intense overload of Duke Nukem, Balls of Steel delivers all the authentic gravitational pyrotechnics of real pinball. View all the tables at once or get close for some whiplash scrolling action! Go gonzo with the 5 ball multi-ball mayhem! Squash scampering aliens to bloody oblivion! Hit rails, flippers, pops, sinkholes, targets, magnetic flippers, ramps, the 'cyclotron' ball accelerator -- every conceivable pinball feature in all its glory! Its authentic pinball action -- whiplash fast and finger-burning good! And hey, if it’s good enough for Duke... then it’s good for you!

Balls of Steel is realistic, first and foremost, with real physics behind the ball movement and table obstacles. Each table behaves like you'd expect it to. On top of that, there are many special effects and table animations. Rock out to event-triggered music, and go wild about characters that speak during the gameplay, to you and to each other. More arcade-y than arcade!

Posted on 2013-01-31 10:29:49 byhansappel's avatarhansappel:

When someone calls a game arcade-y or arcadish or whatever, they usually mean that the game isn't very realistic. Well, a real arcade pinball game is as realistic as it gets, isn't it? Worms Pinball (a standalone game and a table in Addiction Pinball) is realistic, Balls of Steel is not. The Duke Nukem table even has moving monsters that you can shoot down with the ball, splatteringread more gore all over the place. Not the kind of thing that happens in real life pinball!
But guess what? The lack of realism doesn't take anything away from the fun. And the game is still arcadish with its cinematic music and fast action.

2D Pinball Mayhem

Posted on 2013-02-01 03:11:40 byRetrostage's avatarRetrostage:

BoS is not comparable to 3D/render pinball games like Pro Pinball. BoS is pure 2D awesomeness and mostly overlooked by gamers in 1997 due to the fact that 3D gaming was entering the field.
But BoS shows that pinball games are timeless. The game works flawlessly with Win 7, but needs a long time to load the data. BoS shows fast paced pinball action and plays like to good old 2Dread more pinball games years ago. So, it's one of the best if not THE best 2D pinball game ever created! Try it out, it won't disappoint you if you: Come get some!

One of the best pinballs ever!

This is one of the most fun pinball games that I know. Not overly realistic, but realistic enough and at the same time having interesting gameplay mechanics. Things like monsters walking around the table or the balls changing material (and physical properties) depending on the gamemode add a lot of flavor to the game.
