Doing it better

You fell out of space. You said: "I'll be home for breakfast...." But you realised it isn't that simple. In 2.0 you don't say that anymore. Time to think big. Not one planet but 5 planets. It is unsure if you still want to go home. Why go home when there is so much more to explore, to build and to conquer. You take a step back in time and although you are wiser now and have more knowledge it still takes some time to rebuild your imperium from the ground back until you can touch the emptiness of space. Luckily it is possible to set preferences for every planet. So you feel confident and comfortable. You look at your mod portal. So much to choose from. It is hard to resist. Does something exists better than the best? Probably not. So you keep going. Even the best need sometimes some change to keep things interesting. Again looking at your mod portal you know for sure: this will be eternal.

Unreal how good this is

The planets this adds are fantastic (except Gleba) and varied. They're all different and have different playstyles and challenges, and for the most part the challenges are fun to overcome. Vulcanus, Fulgora, and Aquilo are great. Each one has its own strengths and weaknesses, but all planets (except Aquilo) are fully capable of supplying everything the other planets can (and some resources are either infinite or basically infinite). Though it can be a bit of a headache to get it set up sometimes, it's always worth it and rewarding. The only planet that sucks is Gleba. Spoilage sucks and is super unforgiving. Nutrients/Science spoiling sucks and is super unforgiving. Eggs "spoiling" and being so damn hard to find sucks and is super unforgiving. Finding out which tiles are even growable because yellow tiles around the argi tower doesn't necessarily mean you can even grow on it with gowing foundations sucks. The whole planet is awful and it's why they lose 1 star.

Worth it for any Factorio addict

There are a few things I could gripe about. But I finished it after about a month of intense play, ~200 hours, and then started again. What more can you ask for? Yeah, some parts don't quite have the same level of polish that the base game does, but that's to be expected since they didn't have 10 years to polish it. In short, even if it's a little rougher, it's more Factorio. If you love Factorio, what are you waiting for?

what a journey

space age added all the things i never knew i needed. originally i thought the space ships looked (visually) kinda lame but they turned out to be amazing. the additional planets all represent their own challenge that can be solved in a vacuum (with some exceptions) or by setting up interstellar logistics. quality of items makes for some interesting choices and challenges but the feature can also be turned off completely AFAIK so i see it as a win either way. amazing expansion and i truly hope it won't be the only one!
