I don't think the original textures were intended to be there or were there to make a statement of sorts. They probably wanted something exotic, oriental in the brothel to evoke probably a harem of sort and ended up using a pic of a prayer rug. I don't see anything wrong with CDPR fixing something they did not intend in the first place as stated in the clarification by that staff member.

I'm amazed people are getting so worked up about this. It's a rug texture, i mean for fucks sake. They included a texture they probably didn't realize was strictly Muslim in origin (probably just thought it looked nice) and are now removing it to avoid potential offense that was most likely never intended. It's not as if there's anything actually relevant to the plot being changed.
