nascent: So, no mention of being able to compare equiped items to items in store; but Islamic looking textures have been altered... Yep >.<

CaptainKremin: I have different issues with the game, but yeah, this was pretty much my first though........ the patch seems rather ponitless.

I'd also like to know why CDP considers barbers and hairstyles a selling point.... for as single player game.. this is amature mod stuff.
it's a free addition. stop bitching. give them time for more substantive dlcs.

I think it was just an "answer" to those who complained about Geralt new hairstyle in W2.

But I too would have preferred something more exciting as a DLC. But any I still find it very nice of them to make all DLC available for everybody which is something other game maker should learn from (yes Bioware I am talking about you)

boozee: they nerfed the prologue!
but never made the later game harder

Yes, totally pointless for them to fix about a dozen game stopping bugs, fix quests, fix hardware compatibility, add savegame deletion, etc. I can't imagine why they would release a patch like this.

Quoted for emphasis.

If you look at the problems people have been posting and then the changelog, it looks like 85%* of the issues will be resolved in this patch alone. Hardly pointless.

I'm more interested in why they choose a french word rather than 'hairstylist' or 'hair dresser'.
In the comments of the official patch notes page, CDPr alludes to it a bit more specifically.

"By mistake on one of the carpets in one of the games brothels there were islamic motives. Not a good taste and pure mistake. Carpets in this particular brothel then get exchanged;)

CDP RED"

And before people go off about censorship/PCbullshit/fear of Islam, etc.:

If you check out the art book that comes with GoG version, they say that they went out of their way to evoke religious themes without directly referencing any modern religion. They are not playing favorites here, or bowing to fear.

it's a medieval game, so they use more old fashioned terms. hairdresser doesn't give off a medieval vibe does it?

I suppose not - I didn't realize coiffeuse (sp) was a medieval term, so learn something new every day. I guess that also explains the use of the word 'profligacy'.

I'm frankly quite annoyed about this. Why are you censoring my game?

I hope someone makes a mod to re-apply the textures, because this is seriously not cool.

Who knows maybe they are replacing them with naked women, that wouldn't be censoring would it? ;P

Read the official statement brah. It's quite reasonable.

I think the point was that the motifs ended up in such a way that they weren't a part of CDPR's vision. This seems like something that we would have heard about if people were complaining about it, so them changing it without any impetus suggests that it's less censorship than fixing something they didn't mean to put in there in the first place.

well, it's not about islam, christianism or any other religions and beliefs.. anything that mentions something religious shouldn't take place in a brothel right? but i don't think a letter in arabic alphabet offends any religion. since it's just a letter can be used in any word if you want.
I think I found the issue:

That seems to be an Islamic mosque or something
