A farewell to arms promo!

The Arma Series, that is Arma Gold Edition, Arma: Cold War Assault, and Arma 2: Combined Operations (complete with the Operation Arrowhead expansion), providing the ultimate mod-enabled first person-perspective military simulation experience, is available up to 80% off on GOG.com. That's only $8.17 for the whole set of three games, for the next 72 hours.

War has always been, and probably always will be, one of the predominant themes in computer games. From 8-bit systems to contemporary monster gaming rigs you'll have simulators, strategy games, and war-inspired arcade titles. But there's only one type of game that could let you really see war as a first-hand gritty and immersive experience. An FPS, first person perspective shooter. Again, there are many levels of realism throughout the genre. Some of the war FPS' tend to focus on storytelling, using heavy scripting to deliver a cinematic experience. Others don't try to hide the fact, that the war you're seeing isn't real and that the main goal is to have fun while playing. And there's the Arma Series.

Arma Series is a game series that will make you feel like an actual combatant on one of the modern-day military missions. A game that will amaze you with its level of realism in recreating actual weapons, military gear, ballistics, and battlefield conditions. A game that will challenge you in ways no other wargame ever could. Dropping you in the middle of a fictional conflict, that feels more real than most things you see on the news, it proves to be the ultimate modern-day military simulation that you can play outside of actual military VR training facilities. Arma 2: Combined Operations allows for massive multiplayer matches that can host up to 50 players simultaneously, and the Operation Arrowhead expansion that, on top of adding another campaign to the game, provides extensive mod compatibility, this is the FPP wargame you want to get, if you mean business.

On top of that, Arma 2: Combined Operations is required to run DayZ, the most popular game modification since the infamous Hot Coffe. What? You don't know what DayZ is? Don't fret--we've got you covered.

Do you think you can handle real virtual warfare? Find out if you really know which side of the assault rifle you should point at the enemies in the complete Arma Series, for only $8.17 on GOG.com. The special promo lasts until Saturday, June 7, at 9:59AM GMT. Games also available separately with lower discount rate. The games already owned on GOG.com count towards the higher discount.

Important note: This is a last chance promo, as Arma Gold Edition, Arma: Cold War Assault, and Arma 2: Combined Operations will be removed from sales on GOG.com on June 22, along with the remaining Bohemia Interactive title: Original War. If you buy (or have already bought) any of these games, they will remain on your account "shelf", so you'll be still able to access and download them.
One hour left on the Arma sale! Get them while they're cheap and still here on GOG!

You got 10 mins folks :p
I always hate it when Devs are removing games from GOG, although I never really cared about ARMA (not that fan of military shooters)
Hope everybody interested in it was able to pick it up!
it was kind of a shame the discount got obliterated instead of stepping down when you removed a game. I would have got the first two.

skeletonbow: I've confirmed (by personally redeeming them on Steam) that the game codes under "My Serials" on the GOG bookshelf for ArmA2 Combined Operations will redeem on Steam and once both codes are redeemed there, you'll have "ArmA 2", "Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead" and the beta of the latter added to your Steam account.

ArmA Cold War Assault was just recently a freebie giveaway on Steam and I almost ignored it because I have the GOG version but decided I might as well take the freebie while it was there. Doesn't look like there is any option at the moment for ArmA Gold however. Might have to play these games through VPN tunnels if they don't gain other options, or for people who avoid Steam at all costs.
I've tried this multiple times, and can't get it to work. Any tips?

The CD keys are both on the same line but have to be activated separately on Steam; copy the first five sets of letters/numbers and activate that, then repeat for the second set of five.

I just went to my GOG game card page where you have the links to download the games and it displays the serial numbers right there in the form 4-5-5-5-5 ie: AAAA-BBBBB-BBBBB-BBBBB-BBBBB

I selected the code, hit copy, went into my Steam client and selected "Add Game" then followed the prompts and pasted the code into Steam's dialogue and hit Next. Next screen to come up is the "print receipt?" screen which did not display the name of the game anywhere at all (some kind of Steam glitch I imagine), but I printed it and gave it a name anyway, then Arma 2 was added to my Steam account and offered for installation. I repeated this with the second code and the Arma2 addons stuff were added to my Steam account as well. There are a bunch of other codes there also which do not look like Steam codes and I'm not sure what they're for.

oh damn I didn't know about this. missed your original post one page before my first post in this thread too.
only just read about this. I'd not read about it earlier as I already had the games so ignored the promo and forum entry.

Well they can only lose sales in the long run.

Every game I have on steam I try and get on GOG so extra sale to publishers / developers. I tend to pay more for games on GOG for the DRM free and I like GOG. So higher sales value than on steam for this customer.

I've already done that with ARMA guess it won't happen with their future titles.
We're running a thread to hopefully make BI rethink their decision, please feel free to stop by and let your opinions be heard.

I've previously tried all three lines of "keys" in my setup previously, even adding dashes between the numbers in the second/third rows, it just doesn't work for me. Oh, well.
It is ArmA 2 only, and the first line only, 2 the keys of the form XXXX-YYYYY-YYYYY-YYYYY-YYYYY on the top line of serials, and not the other codes that follow on the remaining lines. If these keys do not redeem on Steam for you I would suggest contacting GOG support for help as your particular situation may differ from mine, or your keys might be errant perhaps but it definitely worked for me, you can see the games now registered in my Steam account:

http://steamcommunity.com/id/skeletonbow/games/?tab=all&sort=name

There are 3 ArmA 2 entries there, the game, the addon pack and the obsolete beta showed up when I redeemed the two Steam key codes from GOG.

ArmA Cold War assault in my Steam account is from a recent freebie promo from somewhere else however, and I do not have ArmA Gold on Steam yet. Perhaps there will be a future freebie promo for that one, or preferably hopefully all the titles will gain GOG Galaxy support and come back to GOG. ;o)

Hope this helps.

Boilpoint: I'm very interested in the response (assuming you get one). If you wouldn't mind, please post it if/when you get it.
My contact at Bohemia tried to see if there was a way to keep Original War on GOG, but there doesn't seem to be a way. I don't know the exact details.

Bummer. Thanks for trying and sharing the response, Stucuk.
Original War 99 cents throughout whole Steam Summer sale. Seems almost vindictive.
