If you're looking for your traditional shooter or a Battlefield clone, go away this game isn't for you.
If you're looking for a realistic simulation and you have time to assimilate all what this quite demanding game has to offer, stay and enjoy as it is full of content and has enough to keep you interested for a long time.
Perhaps the only things I hold against this game is thatread more it's unforgivable because of it's realism but well it is what you should seek when you play it. The squad controls are quite clunky, the world is so huge it's sometimes easy to get lost. None will explain you what to do and the tutorials are only about controls no really of how to act on the field which may be a lack for beginners. The game also forces you to do missions not related to your preferences to advance the story line, you'll not get a full infantry campaign (which is IMHO the best part of the game) and will have some helicopter or tank missions. The missions themselves are very well done and quite long, be prepared to have quite some time before jumping in.
The game has also high configuration requirements pushing it to the maximum isn't exactly an affordable option for most computers.

As the title said, put your computer hardware into consideration before you buy this game.
As many people on this site I believe, I only have one crappy laptop currently, and since i had played this game alot on one of my friends computer, I know my computer doesn't have any hope to run this smoothly.
Just a reminder, hope it will help.

Don't buy it for just DayZ. It's a wonderful game by itself. But, key word MILITARY SIMULATOR. IT'S NOT CALL OF DUTY. IT IS HARDCORE. THE CONTROLS ARE CLUNKY! But it is a wonderful game.
