Free Mars, or die trying!

Red Faction, a critically acclaimed and extremely revolutionary *wink* first-person shooter with destructible terrain and a close-range hard Sci-Fi setting, is available 70% off on GOG.com, as a part of our Red Faction 1+2 Bundle deal. That's only $2.99 for the first 72 hours!

You are Parker, a weary miner who works for the corrupt Ultor Corporation. You reside on Mars, sometime in the future, and when a plague spreads through the mining community, some of the Ultor employees uncover a massive conspiracy. Thus ensues a battle by a group of lowly workers, provoked to uprise by your own actions and to expose the deadly experiments Ultor has unleashed onto its work force. History will judge you. Make sure your faction wins, so its your people who get to write the history books.

Red Faction was a very big leap forward in the FPS genre. It introduced many new technical features such as location-based damage system, real-time skeletal deformation, advanced physics simulation, destructible environment and more. The unprecedented (at the time) interaction with the environment creates a very strong feeling of immersion that is very impressive even by today's standards. With an engaging story to tell, a unique set of features such as location-based damage system, real-time skeletal deformation, operational land, sea, and air vehicles, advanced physics simulation, and destructible environment, it's safe to say the game well deserved all the critical acclaim it got.

Play your part in the history of Mars in Red Faction, for only $2.99 on GOG.com. The special 70% off release bundle offer lasts only until Friday, February 14, at 10:59AM GMT. The games are also available separately, 60% off.
Classic shooter from early 2000's! I can never have enough copies of this game.

ThomNG: Enjoy the first 2 parts of the Red Faction series here on GOG.com :)
Greetings from the Nordic Games office.
Insta-bought for support, thank you!

Please work on bringing the Darksiders games here too, I'm ready to hurl money at the screen.
It's been said before and it must be said again: GOG is on a roll this year. Let's hope they can keep it up.

Greetings from the Nordic Games office.
Thank you! Crossing fingers Titan Quest and Darksiders end up being released here, as well.
Oh well, Judas warned before: Embrace your wallets, put them to run to the hills, mine is already dead...
Thrilling recently launches, well done GOG (and this discounted model for the bundle at launch is too damm tempting...)

Not quite my cup of tea but it's still good to see the Red Faction games here on GOG.

Yep, bring on Summoner GOG!
Not bad. I never played these, so I just grabbed 'em.

Man, first the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and now this. GOG's on a roll again.
I have always liked the Red Faction games, thought I have always felt they promised a lot more than they actually delivered. Nice release
Hmmm. revolutionary for the time? I'd say that it is still unmatched as far as destructible environments go. Whether you'll like the game is an entirely different question, but I really can't recall any other game where the actual environment (in difference to items IN the environment) is fully destructible.

To be fair, this was sometimes more of a burden on the developers than a blessing. The environments aren't as diverse as other games, because digging tunnels works best in well... tunnels. Also, pretty much anything can be bypassed if you're willing to spend enough rockets on the walls surrounding it.

But... I like it. RF2 on the other hand is much more conventional... what you prefer is up to you.

That's good to hear! :)
Instabuy! Very nice release! Haven't played this game since it came out, I'm looking forward to revisiting this classic.
I've got a slight visual issue in RedFaction 1: The rocket launcher X-ray field is invisible :)

Anybody else experiencing this?
