Free Mars, or die trying!

Red Faction, a critically acclaimed and extremely revolutionary *wink* first-person shooter with destructible terrain and a close-range hard Sci-Fi setting, is available 70% off on GOG.com, as a part of our Red Faction 1+2 Bundle deal. That's only $2.99 for the first 72 hours!

You are Parker, a weary miner who works for the corrupt Ultor Corporation. You reside on Mars, sometime in the future, and when a plague spreads through the mining community, some of the Ultor employees uncover a massive conspiracy. Thus ensues a battle by a group of lowly workers, provoked to uprise by your own actions and to expose the deadly experiments Ultor has unleashed onto its work force. History will judge you. Make sure your faction wins, so its your people who get to write the history books.

Red Faction was a very big leap forward in the FPS genre. It introduced many new technical features such as location-based damage system, real-time skeletal deformation, advanced physics simulation, destructible environment and more. The unprecedented (at the time) interaction with the environment creates a very strong feeling of immersion that is very impressive even by today's standards. With an engaging story to tell, a unique set of features such as location-based damage system, real-time skeletal deformation, operational land, sea, and air vehicles, advanced physics simulation, and destructible environment, it's safe to say the game well deserved all the critical acclaim it got.

Play your part in the history of Mars in Red Faction, for only $2.99 on GOG.com. The special 70% off release bundle offer lasts only until Friday, February 14, at 10:59AM GMT. The games are also available separately, 60% off.

Hi ThomNG,

Thanks for the Red Faction games. Will we ever see them in their German language versions?
Thanks Nordic & GOG! Hopefully the rest of the series will follow; and I wouldn't mind buying Darksiders from GOG either. ;)

I have that, among with many other Novalogic oldies, from Steam. I guess I came by some good bundle discount. I haven't yet checked though if they are DRM-free, but I'd prefer un-Steamed digital versions of them anyway.

(I have retail versions for many of those too though, like Tachyon).

Awesome stuff GOG, thank you for both games :)

timppu: Aww damn, I knew I shouldn't have bought these from Steam... I recall there even may be some compatibility problems with the Steam versions, maybe they are fixed here. I'll get these from GOG for sure. Dang, the same happened with the STALKER games.

What's next, the Comanche and Delta Force games (not to mention Tachyon)? Oh well, keep them coming.
They don't sell Tachyon separately any more, I had to get my Steam copy in a pack with a bunch of serious sims I'll probably never look at, it wasn't a bad price in a sale but still...

Yeah, I think I also got it as part of some Novalogic bundle.
Nice releases. Hopefully we can get Red Faction Guerilla (love that game) here at some point without the horror of GFWL.

Thanks ThomNG and everyone at Nordic Games! : D

I'm really looking forward to Red Faction Guerrilla, by the way ; )
Huh, not Z after all. Too bad. Still, Red Faction is great, a very welcome addition to the catalogue. Won't grab them for now because I already have them on Steam, though.

Have it on CD somewhere. It was the first and only space sim I came across with too MANY missions (quite the contrary to standard space-sims that are always too short). I also had to enable God Mode for the last mission as it was too damn hard.
But overall - great game - I'll buy it when it arrives here.

Damn, own both RF games on Steam and last December i finished Red Faction 1. Got working without Steam running, just using a mod called Pure Faction.
Need to think about if i get them again drm-free.

It's not bad and has historical value, but this release doesn't really get me excited.
Now if it were NOLF, it'd be a different story.
I might get this at some point, although I think I already have it on Steam due to some kind of bundle.
