gbaz69: I have not played any of their games, they come of as rush jobs by viewing gameplay videos of them, at least for me it does.

When a small dev team can push out a new game every month, I don't want to be flooded with low quality games, even if they are put together well.

Take some pride in your work, work on good art and animations and sounds and music and story and game mechanics.
New game every month?

*Cough*Cough*....
The dev began his independant career ten years ago and only began the VN niche in 2008

EDIT: and with VN, when the engine is already made (like Ren'Py), it takes less time to develop a game, because you then only have to hire graphists, writers and playtesters. As they're hired contractors, it's even easier to develop two games at the same time with different talents.

Ah, my misunderstanding. I never heard or seen them until their games started showing up in bundles. (mind you, I only started buying pc games last xmas, so around 10 months)
Just wanted to say that I've bought a number of Winterwolves games direct from their website. Planet Stronghold is a top notch RPG, and I had more fun playing Loren than I did playing any of the Dragon Age games. I've just bought Season of the Wolf but I'm waiting for the "soft release" version to go live before I play it. I don't like playing betas.

And yes, GOG SHOULD add their games to the catalogue. As GOG host both Long Live the Queen AND Hatoful Boyfriend, they can stop talking about the "types of games Winterwolves makes."

Aw. Damn. Totally would've bought the winterwolves games here.

jack_norton: Hi all,
just wanted to clarify some things :)
1) I didn't offer my dating sims, since I don't think they would be a good fit for this site myself! I was more thinking about the RPGs.
2) I know that my RPGs have a lot of text/plot and focus a lot on romance, so can't be for all tastes. I am going to make some different games (RPGs and not) in future focused more on gameplay. For example my upcoming RPG ToA:Seasons Of The Wolf
3) About the prices, everyone has its own opinions about it. My games takes a lot of time to produce since have lot of writing and art. But of course you can disagree. In any case considering how frequent are the sales nowadays I think talking about the regular price doesn't make much sense, since you can get almost any game for under $10 if you wait only a few months ;)

So in summary I respect their decision, and of my games I think only the RPGs would sell here.
From my limited knowledge and experience of the GOG community the past couple of years, there definitely is a market for your games here. It is a shame to hear that GOG have rejected them. Ah well, this cements my decision to get Loren on sale on Steam, to add to the rest of my Winter Wolves game collection.

Your new game looks promising, and I like the addition of isometric maps, even if they appear simple. Given Seasons of the Wolf has main characters called Shea and Althea and my girlfriend's name is Thea, it's a definite sale purely based on being raised on Dr Seuss books and anything with a rhyming scheme catches my attention :P

Yeah, same. It does seem that GOG is not interested in getting more money :/
It's a shame. I've played a few WW games and they're all pretty consistent. Sure, I may like one writer's or artist's style over another, but that's true of all publishers ... I am curious how much I'll enjoy the new gameplay in SotW compared to Loren or Planet Stronghold.

It's very surprising that gog would have Long live the Queen in the catalog and not the Winter Wolves RPGs. Also, isn't Hatoful Boyfriend a bit of a dating sim deconstruction? I haven't played it yet but if so, wouldn't it be more enjoyable to play if goglodytes had a few others to compare it to? I have to admit, I was kind of disappointed when I found out that HB didn't have pigeon portraits for the whole game. That sounded really funny : p

Please reconsider GOG! Also, maybe look at Moacube, Sakevisual and Cyanide Tea, too.

Thanks for all the support! :)
By the way SOTW is now in "soft release". I might do some gameplay tweak in next week (some enemies/battles) but nothing major :)

I think SOTW is vastly superior (for gameplay only, the story depends also on tastes so...) to both PS and Loren, but I'll let you be the judge!

catpower1980: That reminded me that I liked the graphics of Vera Blanc very much. Do you plan to come back to the Fumetti style one day? Doing a game with the style of Guido Crepax (Valentina) or Hugo Pratt (Corto Maltese) would be great although I don't expect it will sell well comparing to manga style :(

jack_norton: I am not sure, but I don't think, considering the poor results :( a pity because I liked that art-style too!

SirPrimalform: That said... how recently did GOG reject the games? It's possible they weren't a good fit at some point in the past but would be considered a better fit now.

jack_norton: I submitted Loren again (I submitted it first in 2013 I think) just after I saw Hatoful, because I thought "if they added that game, maybe they changed their mind/policies". But answer was the same ^_^;
I'll submit lookofdisappointment.jpg to gog for rejecting Loren. Played the demo of it a while back ago and was hoping for it to show up here. Looks like it ain't happening. Keep doing your magic man, visual novels are a rare breed to see in our times.
Long flowing ice blue locks and pointy ears are not my thing at all, but this thread has peaked my curiosity to try the game, so I have downloaded the demo. It's a shame these games have been rejected as there is obviously a market for them here, and both the pigeon game and Long Live the Queen are in the GOG catalogue.

Looks very interesting, I'll probably buy it next week when I get paid. But I have a question: for adults who don't have 20-30 hours to sink into a game anymore, could there be some "casual mode" or tweaking like in Defender's Quest where there is a 1,5x XP gain option for example? I like the days countdown to next plot event by the way ;)

There is an Easy mode which is quite easy, but I'm adding now even a cheat mode (works only in easy difficult obviously) that kills all the enemies pressing a key :D that should be enough I think!

LOL, I think I'll try to kill them by myself at least (just to appreciate the combat system) :o) Waiting for my salary now ;)
