jack_norton: No worries I now have a "different DRM" which is even better. Simple serial codes that works even offline :) In any case the GoG version wouldn't have that DRM, so that's not the problem.
I just went back and looked at the thread and I have to apologise. Although there was a bit of confusion about what was and wasn't DRM back then, you were very accommodating and understanding. I misremembered and was completely unfair in my previous post here and I'm sorry.

That said... how recently did GOG reject the games? It's possible they weren't a good fit at some point in the past but would be considered a better fit now.

KneeTheCap: So, apparently gog rejected the winter wolves games to be sold in here, saying that they're not a good fit.

How come? They're all good games, many of them are RPG's and I believe they would sell well here. Would you buy a game from winter wolves?

You play Winterwolves's games, KneeTheCap?

I like their games, but I'm surprised you do. :P

Why surprised? :D
I enjoyed Planet Stronghold and (especially) Loren. I think they'd fit in just fine here. Of course not everyone will like them, but isn't that true for all games?

FearfulSymmetry: Of course not everyone will like them, but isn't that true for all games?
Absolutely. And not only for the games, it's the same for music, books, movies, etc.
It would be nice to have some variety around here. I wonder if GOG worries that it will get the kind of response like it did for Hatoful Boyfriend. All the kids screaming and crying that they're done with GOG and will go to someone else that doesn't sell the scary Japanese looking things (no-one?).

MetalPlateMage: Winter Wolf games are basically visual novels, some having RPG and other elements, often otome, with a western audience leaning. Several are sort of youtube lets player favorites, and then people buy them afterwards at those prices despite having watched the whole thing for several hours. So yeah, there's a market all right.
That's not true you know. WinterWolves does make visual vovels, but not all their games are VNs. Planet Stronghold and Loren are both pretty straightforward RPGs, and several others are more dating sims than VNs.

If you count any game with a lot of text and different answers to pick every so often as a VN, then Planescape: Torment would be a visual novel too.

catpower1980: That reminded me that I liked the graphics of Vera Blanc very much. Do you plan to come back to the Fumetti style one day? Doing a game with the style of Guido Crepax (Valentina) or Hugo Pratt (Corto Maltese) would be great although I don't expect it will sell well comparing to manga style :(
I am not sure, but I don't think, considering the poor results :( a pity because I liked that art-style too!

I submitted Loren again (I submitted it first in 2013 I think) just after I saw Hatoful, because I thought "if they added that game, maybe they changed their mind/policies". But answer was the same ^_^;

*Blush* I had the impression pegged, that you are a FPS or hard-core action kind of guy, not solely, but more so than others. :D

Impressions are funny :)

I do love visual novels, because they often have a good story and awesome art. I like dating sims because they have a nice mechanic involving time management, stat raising and sort of roleplay.

I actually don't like FPS games that much, mostly because of my poor reflexes. Same applies with RTS games. But give me a TBS and I will put up a fight against you.

Anyway, Winter Wolves games have lots of simulation, management, roleplay and excellent stories. I really hope GOG will change their minds with these, as they're great games that definitely fit GOG.

We have a pidgeon dating sim, for chrissakes. Why can't we have these?
I own plenty of Winter Wolves' games, some are better than others, but ultimately I enjoyed them all. I'd welcome them on GOG. You can buy directly from the developer's site, or on Steam. If you get them directly from the developer, they do usually have an activation process (nothing much, you either enter your serial number or the email you used to buy them). But that also happens with Spiderweb games, and Spiderweb ultimately came here too (but not a complete catalogue, the older games and some of the newer remakes are still missing).

Well... I too love Borderlands for instance. But I also loved Roomates. :P

Probably because pidgeons don't have boobs XD

Anyway, isn't The Witcher series already a bit "ecchi" too?

I'm pretty sure that could be said for other games in the catalog. "Looks sideways at BloodRayne and Larry".

Not only that, one of the bonuses contains nudies of a main female character. :P

I would actually like to hear from gog itself why they have rejected the games, and if they would reconsider them now.
