karnak1: Candle got a gamecard.
What a lovely art style! But I shouldn't be surprised since that's pretty much the norm for Daedalic titles. I love this studio! ^_^

Well, it wasn't a Daedalic game; as a backer I can tell you it was a kickstarter from a spanish independent studio that predated Daedalic's publishing deal. And the handpainted graphics were one of its selling points from the get go. Daedalic got similar publishing deals with other spanish games like Randal's Monday or Dead Synchronicity (this last one also a kickstarter).

But yes, even though they are lately embracing 3D (although Silence isn't look bad either), Daedalic did release a lot of handpainted games.

Oh, I know. But they don't publish any and every game they see; they choose their titles to fit with their recognisable visual style. I guess I should have said "Daedalic-published titles" to be more accurate. ;)

And still no penguin icon on it.

I'm starting to feel lucky to have missed the Kickstarter... :\
Owlboy showed up with a gamecard.

EDIT: I posted this before the Owlboy preorder news came, so cease fire ;-)

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun got a gamecard.
Halcyon 6 showed up with a gamecard
Silence, by Daedalic Entertainment, got a gamecard.

Edit. Oops. I hadn't realised the Daedalic thread got updated to include Silence. :|

muntdefems: Just brilliant. I bought the original game on GamesRepublic (which offered it both as a Steam key and a DRM-free download), to fully support the devs. How do they repay me? By making the DLC Steam-only on their store, so now if I want it I'll have to re-buy the base game here.

Unless it gets added to the Connect program, of course...
The DLC now has a DRM-Free build on Games Republic. In addition, it's currently discounted by 33%.

True, I discovered it a little ago myself. But now that you mention it, I'll use this opportunity to apologize to 11bit Studios. :)

The DLC may actually be DRM-free, but if this line below is also accurate, then why even bother?

"DLC: Requires the base game This War of Mine on Steam in order to play."

The line is likely a leftover from the days when the DLC was Steam-only. They presumably forgot to remove it.

That's my assumption, too.
