snowkatt: yes but in over all terms of sales ( and power the wii U is 4 cubes taped together or two wii's superglued together ) it lags behind the ps4 and xbox one ( who are both x86 )

rtcvb32: Raw processing power isn't always the determining factor in games of how good they are, or how well they will be adopted. If Nintendo opened their doors and allowed indie games, most of them would run on the Wii-U just as well as on the PS3/PS4 and XBone...

The reason Nintendo is lagging behind is because they threw away their install base & third party devs with the Wii gimmick...
Yes, but they were super popular for TWO WHOLE YEARS! :D

Don't you mean motion controls was popular while it was new? The only game that really sold well was Wii Sports, and that came bundled with the system, after a month or two when people had their fill the Wii just sat and collected dust, i should know there's one in front of me (Belonging to my GF).

Be it as it may, Nintendo did a good job of burning a lot of bridges, if they weren't so successful with the 3DS i'm sure they would be in just as dire problems as Capcom is.

Huinehtar: Sad to see that the biggest video game budgets are used to make games for people who don't like video games.
I agree with this, i see these games with these awesome ideas and full of content (ex Mount & Blade) and i cannot stop wandering how awesome it would be if the game had a better budget... And then you get to see tons of cash wasted in "cinematic games" like The Order... Idk, i think Yoshida needs to step up or leave...

But back on topic, it's weird that nowadays bosses are like "press x to win", i mean, c'mon, give a challenge... And even if we remove the qte's there's still those bosses that are pathetically weak, Gears of War 1 had a tough boss but GoW2 had one that only required 3 shoots from a special weapon...

jefequeso: The WiiU has some interesting exclusive games, though.
Well it does have more time on the market (1 year i think) and it's lacking in third party support. But yeah, both Sony and MS are dropping the ball with the exclusives, i haven't seen one that i could say "Yeah, that games justify the console purchase", perhaps Bloodborn will be the one...

If nintendo were to ever release real pokemon games on the Wii U it would blow both playstation and xbox out of the water.

Maybe...?

Pokemon Wii-U Snap!
Pokemon Wii-U Arena!
Pokemon Wii-U Red/Blue!

Hmmm... I don't think so.

Pokemon was never about using so much processing power, rather being a game you can play when there's nothing to do, and for kids that's a lot (Kids ride the bus rather than drive, they don't work, they have recesses, lunch periods, etc etc); Let's also not forget the big selling point of Pokemon is trading and duels with other players; That and parents always trump usage of the TV. If kids spent hours and hours and hours in front of the TV there's a higher chance they will be told to go play outside, while carrying a DS you can have your game anywhere you go...

jefequeso: From what I understand, the Xbone is pretty clearly behind this generation, yeah?
I don't know for sure. I'm still under the impression that the PS4 is in the lead, both in terms of sales and the quality of the available exclusives. Admittedly Sunset Overdrive seems to have turned out much better than Infamous: Second Son but what is there other than that? Ryse is not an exclusive anymore and was mediocre to begin with, Forza has an insulting amount of microtransactions, Project Spark seems to have turned out meh and is also available on PC, and then there's the disaster that Fighter Within is... the PS4 at least started with new titles in Sony's flagship franchises Killzone and Infamous and the next Uncharted is coming.

I think that's not really the issue here, though. The question is which console is actually worth buying. And the Wii U has really been picking up Steam in terms of games worth buying. Truth is that in terms of games alone the Wii U is the most attractive system even to me right now (while normally I'm not at all into Nintendo's stuff).

I don't think I was the only one to expect Microsoft to buy a few exclusives for launch then to forget about games. It was cute to see their plans for online checks and microtransactions. Forza would have cool without the shitty music and microtransactions; same for the dragon game, the zoo game seemed all right, and Ryse is pathetic. Even the new Remedy game doesn't seem super interesting so far.

Infamous might be a bit bland, but it doesn't have the cringy writing of Sunset, and I'm sure the games will keep rolling in. Too bad about The Order. Never try to copy Microsoft.

If I didn't dislike Nintendo so much for the YouTube bullshit, I'd agree with you there.
The console exclusives between the two titans have been a mixed bag. But I like the look and gameplay of Sunset because its not grey, brown, and foreboding... and Xenoblade X just looks awesome.

Though I do expect Bloodborne will make the inner masochist in me happy. But really right now I am most looking forward to No Mans Sky, and that will be on Steam at the very least. These companies did not plan this "next generation" all that well.

I mean new exclusive pokemon games, not remakes or craptacular wanna-bes. I do know far too many adults who play pokemon games - in particular from the generations that grew up with them.

Pokemon Wii-U Orange!
Pokemon Wii-U Bananna!
Pokemon Wii-U Kiwi!

A game SOOOOO big we had to split it in 3 identical games!

.... what? Colors and gems are too cool?

How did they copy Microsoft? So the game has some similarities to Gears of War (which is Epic Games' doing, though, more than MS') but it never struck me as an attempt to imitate MS. Unless I misunderstood your post and you just included "never try to copy Microsoft" for the hell of it. :D

I'm equally confused...

Besides Microsoft is quite known as a copy-cat overall... can you copy-cat a copy-cat? Or does that run the possibility of tearing a hole in the fabric of the space time continuum?

I think all games inspired by Blizzard titles are proof of that. :P

Dudebro speech with third-person shooter and focus on graphics like Ryse. I really feel like Sony wanted a great-looking "Western" game.
