C17: Think of it what you will, I wish the PS4 had a Sunset Overdrive right now. Or that it at least comes to PC.
I think I saw something about that. It might not be out of the question. So many colours...

darthspudius: QTE aren't bad if they're done right. God knows that God of War 2 final boss was fuckin tense!
avatar
P1na: yeah, sure. The first time. Then you die, and restart, and do it over and over again until you're sick of it.

Well, not you specifically; me specifically. I'm bad with QTEs, and I rage quitted God of War 2 on the final boss due to that. Twice. Please let me kill the enemy normally, there's nothing worse than chipping a boss' health down to 15%, triggering and failing the QTE, and being back at 60% health. There are games, such as Castlevania 2, that I have completely abandoned due to this practice.
I had more or less the same thing with Shenmue 2, the game is a fucking masterpiece until you end up with frequent and systematic QTE at the end of each "boss". I even had a walktrough on my knees with the transcript of the QTE's but after a while, I couldn't put out the sequences properly (I suck at rhythm games too).

Yeah, couldn't finish it.
games rader described the game thusly :

" If The Last of Us – with its intelligent, progressive, resonating, modern interactive narrative design – is Julius, then The Order, with its dated, automated, uninvolving delivery of similarly epic aspiration is – as a scientist bluntly describes DeVito at one point in the film – ‘all the crap that was left over’.

Still, at least it looks really nice."

It was the same with the Shadow of Mordor. Some tough battles with warchiefs and captains throughout the game and final fight is about pressing button 3 time in QTE.
Really disappointing "climax" of whole experience. :-/

I got to share this: ReviewTechUSA The Order: 1886's Low Scores Is Like Racism Towards Blacks? LMAO!

Still [s]watching[/s] listening to it but it's both sad and hilarious...

jefequeso: I still can't fathom why anyone cares about that game. It looks incredibly dull.
Truth is that despite the rather obviously dull gameplay I'd love to give it a try. I really dig its style and setting.

Mr.Caine: There's this myth that every Sony exclusive is a good game by default.Every console has it's share of fanatics but the passion and aggressiveness of Sony cult is admirable/despicable.
How so? Beneath each review or video of any PS4 exclusive you can find Xbone fanboy comments that say "lol, PS4 exclusives are shit, Xbone has awesome exclusives" or "Xbone wins again" and not one of them actually mentions a specific game. Presumably because there aren't any. I think these Xbone fanboys are a very special kind of moronic. It's one thing to praise mediocre or generic games like The Order or Shadowfall, it's yet another one to praise games which don't exist. :P

A final boss fight as a QTE doesn't bother me by itself. As long as it makes sense with the rest of the game and it was satisfying I might even prefer it.

Look at Planescape Torment, the best way to deal with the final boss was purely through dialogue. Yet it has to be the best ending to a video game I have seen to date. It made perfect sense in context to the story and it was plain amazing.

So should a final boss fight be a QTE? It depends.

I want to believe those people are just trolls.I mean for christ's sake if even Halo:Master Chief collection turns out bad you got no argument about Xbone exclusives.

Fair enough, I guess. It just seems like the poster child for everything I hate about AAA games, and it irks me that it's getting so much hype.

The WiiU has some interesting exclusive games, though.

yes but in over all terms of sales ( and power the wii U is 4 cubes taped together or two wii's superglued together ) it lags behind the ps4 and xbox one ( who are both x86 )

Raw processing power isn't always the determining factor in games of how good they are, or how well they will be adopted. If Nintendo opened their doors and allowed indie games, most of them would run on the Wii-U just as well as on the PS3/PS4 and XBone...

The reason Nintendo is lagging behind is because they threw away their install base & third party devs with the Wii gimmick...
