This looks like an interesting title but as others have said I rather have the full experience.

Fenixp: Technicality is all there is to 3D. The term you're looking for is not 2D, it's probably 'sidescrolling'

Leroux: From a player's perspective it doesn't make a lot of sense then to talk about 3D games, though, if it only refers to the engine, not the camera control and perspectives. Unless it's about system requirements, maybe.
The gameplay seems to be almost(?) entirely old-school 2D, so I'd call it a 2D game. Only the graphics are polygon-based and "3D". But then, you can achieve similar visual effects with 2D pre-rendered graphics, or various fake 3D styles.

I can see this turning into a really silly discussion though, so I'll shut up now.

3D is used technology, there are actual, proper terms for a game which only allows movement in two dimensions just as there is an actual, proper term for a game which uses 3D models for its graphics. The former term is a sidescroller, the latter is ... Oh just call it whatever, it's just incredibly confusing to use a purely technical term to describe gameplay. I've also seen these games being called '2 and a half D', which blows my mind just as the revolutionary scientific discovery that fourth dimension is, in fact, water squirting in your face. But even 2.5D is clearer and more descriptive, as it doesn't make any sense from technological standpoint.

Fenixp: Can someone tell me whether the ending is conclusive or if the game actually is the first part of a trilogy with massive cliffhanger at the end? 'Cause if it's the latter and the game sells itself as a story-driven one, I don't think I'm going to bite until the entire story is out.
Somebody may have already answered this, but the game is very good imho, and yes it has a satisfying ending and feels complete and could stand on its own. It's not a cliffhanger. It's complete in the way that the original Star Wars is complete, even though it's part of a larger narrative.

hope this helps,

JinseiNGC224: I don't know why Costume Quest 2, Limbo, or Braid would be passed over, but I heard that Torchlight 2 is because of integration with Steam.

I voted for all these games though. Bring em ALL here :)
Torchlight 2 was available direct from Runic however sans steam (using their own drm/serial etc)
Why isnt Costume Quest 2 here though???

PainOfSalvation: I don't think it's been bundled before, you sure about that? Anyway, another solid addition to GOG catalogue, wishlisted for now. :)

yyahoo: It was in Humble Weekly Bundle: Sci-Fi Edition back in early August of last year.
Thanks for the info, i have no idea how i missed that. -.- Also my google skills have failed me. xD
I would prefer to see The Fall: Last Days of Gaia on here instead.

After all the patches in its reloaded version it is quite a decent RPG

Oh snap. They passed the release date? Is it voice acting that takes so long? Or is the bankruptcy that much in the way?
Aw, I thought this might be about The Fall - Last Days of Gaia the awesome Wasteland tribute from a German studio. I'm waiting for this game to be here since I made my account.

Did it even get english translation? I still have a DVD somewhere around here, one of the few DVDs I still keep around. And the game refuses to work on Win8. Grr.

There's a translation mod flying around on torrent sites.

Does anybody know what happened to "Mutant City", the standalone addon that was supposed to be released in 2006?
Edit: Oh, they made an extra short point'&'click adventure out of it...

The developers initially mentioned a February 2015 release date for the second part. They are currently saying that they can't do anything (work on book 2, update the game or even release Heretic Kingdoms on Steam) while the publisher's insolvency is still going on.
